I am secretly a ghost trying to poison popular culture with misleading antighost strategies.
Michael you should check Steam![]()
Michael thou needst to WATCH OUT, for the Homestucks have been unleashed upon thine poor servers.
Incidentally I just read through Moe's archives right before Hussie dropped that recommendation, and I have this favorited now yes. I love how Moe is just a completely unsympathetic and horrible person, except it's in this weird innocent kind of way that makes it impossible to hate him.
ha ha what's all this old crap Past Me put in his signature, get that stuff outta there
firman, I gotta say your commenters are pretty rad.
Gotta say this is the best development since ever.
Thanks peeps! For peeping!
Word of mouth is my only promotional strategy right now, so I appreciate all comments and shares and the like! I've always admitted that any popularity Moe enjoys is via the kindness of fans. Unfortunately I don't expect to be rolling out the merchandise until next month, but a boost in attention is always welcome.
It's a quirky character for sure. Besides being an insensitive and selfish jackass, Moe is genuinely a murderer (or at least manslaughterer) and abusive guardian. But I suppose there are enough hints of social awkwardness, love, and naivete that make him relatable in certain aspects. Plus the violence and stuff is all in a rather absurd context, so it might be easier to forgive.
The other thing is that Moe can be inconsistently written, and that's purely because it's a search for humourous moments rather than a cohesive narrative.
I just read through the entire archive in a couple of days and I have to say I enjoyed the whole thing. It had my interest the entire time I read through it. I'll definitely be checking the site everyday for updates.
I decided to reread the moe archives as well to prepare myself for this exciting new year we have ahead of us. I loved it.
It's great how there's an advancing storyline while still being mostly just a big series of funny moments. Kind of like dinosaur comics maybe, except with a bit more story?
Also I'd like to casually mention Dr. Mad, in case you forgot about him and/or want to bring back old characters.
I'm genuinely impressed when people commit to reading through the whole archive. I know I couldn't do it without wincing - many of those comics were made over five years ago, which is from a different epoch if you consider my creative/intellectual growth over that time (as in I grew from "total idiot" to "not totally an idiot")
If it were up to my insecure self I'd probably want to hide most of the early Moe strips. But then I remember George Lucas and how annoying it is when he can't just leave existing work alone, so I suppose it's better to keep available the things that people seem to enjoy.
Edit: Although Dr. Mad and the interrogator remain amongst my favourite characters from the strip. I should try to steer the cast back to that whimsical kind of silliness.
One of my forgotten favorites: Gagriculture
One of the things I really liked about Moe was the way it keeps to its off-the-wall continuity, despite being mainly gag-based. It never felt like a comic was there just to move the story along- the gags always felt spontaneous (and of course funnier than anything in the paper, but that kind of goes without saying, dunnit?). But it could bring up stuff like his missing stomach without having to explain the joke. And yes, Dr. Mad was fantastic. The moment all the Moe clones were revealed, I completely lost my shit, that was perfect. I also liked how a bunch of character deaths just sort of happened and everybody instantly moved on like nothing happened- or at least Moe did, which is one of the things that makes his character so endearingly abominable.
also Moeseph P. Dope best name or bestest name

I wonder if we'll ever see the Best Pie gang again. Maybe even Mr. Red; he seemed like a pretty cool guy. I know I definitely would like to see Dr. Mad or the Interrogator again. Of course, I also want to see more Mallay and Dumpty as well as pretty much every other old, and often dead, character, so I may not be the best one to offer suggestions here.
Actually, I honestly always wondered about those mushroom-boat pirates Bo landed on the ship of way back when, although that would be less of a call back and more of an answer seeing as they were only ever mentioned twice.
Only if they've been fatally shot!
For most of the comic's run I've fostered a vulnerable roster of characters, with many abrupt deaths. The incessant casualties may have served to lessen the anxiety as readers got used to it. So now the tables turn, and all must fear: characters can COME BACK?!
