Try to stand in front of a tree while the unicorn is charging. Leap out of the way when the unicorn has too much momentum to change direction and also before you get impaled. If successful, the unicorn will become stuck in the tree by it's own instrument of carnage (it's horn).

Unicorn: Aww, COME ON! This is embarassing...

Now that it's harmless (at least for the moment), you consider jumping on it's back. You could ride it, and together, you guys could totally have THE BEST adventures ever!
...Nah it'd probably just kill you.

You're roused from your thoughts suddenly when the unicorn begins to speak.
Unicorn: Uh... Excuse me? I uh.. I know I sort of attacked you and everything, but do you think you could help me? I'm stuck. Reeeally stuck.

You start to feel a little bad for the unicorn. It does look pretty pitiful with it's horn stuck in that tree.
Do you help it, or leave it?

That is probably the most awkward smile you've ever seen, but you concede.

You get to work on getting the unicorn's horn un-stuck. It really is stuck far in that tree! You assume you won't be able to just pull it out on your own, especially when you just watched the unicorn try and fail a good few times. You're not that strong, and definitely less than a full grown equine.

How do you pull out the horn?

Gently twist his head back and forth. That should loosen it. If not, find a hacksaw and ask the unicorn if it would like to become a horse.

Ben: Do you know where I can get an axe? I could cut the tree around your horn!
Unicorn: No, but I know where something equally as sharp is. Here, I'll light the way.

Suddenly, a bright ball of light appears behind you. It travels a few feet, then stops, as if waiting.

You decide to follow it. It leads you deep into the forest, until suddenly, it disappears!
Wait, what's this? A sword? It looks like it's been here quite a while.
