You're an accomplished mage/necromancer Dmitri! Petty thieves and bandits are nothing more than potential soldiers for the King of Worms!

Summon some undead and/or daedra and go to town on him!

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Cast "disintegrate/rot clover-leaves" pr something like that.
Then cast drain speed and/or strength.

    Do this while back-pedaling.

    If all fails, GTFO!

Also, you two guys cannot be the only ones to be in this Necro-hole, right?

Gharug is an adventurer-class threat. Do not underestimate him. Even if you managed to summon all of your friends before he killed you, I would be surprised if you could take him on.

It would seem that your best bet would be to first drain and then damage his luck.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Dmitri: Summon some undead assistance and sound the alarm. You've been on guard duty before, so you know what needs to be done...

...Of course, as a guard, you were also great at abandoning your post to go have sex with a random stranger, so maybe you don't know much about it.

Perhaps you should just surrender at this point and give the orc everything you're carrying, including your letter. He's likely to go straight from here to an encounter with the Khajiit, and this way he might just toss her the letter after robbing it and her of anything of value.

Dmitri: do NOT soil yourself or run away to your quarters, who knows what kinds of horrible things he'd do to your cats.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Dmitri: Ask the Orc what his policy on abject surrender is. Also, as a show of good faith, lead him to your room where your chest is. Maybe getting a zombified cat to the face will catch him off guard enough for you to perform magic upon him?

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Dmitri: If you can't make friends with him then try to burn those four leafed clovers somehow, and also go for help.

    Re: PREQUEL suggestion box

Tell the orc that was AWESOME and amazing timing. Motion for the high-five (he'll totally go for it because this guy is bro material if I ever saw it) and when your hands connect, release an icy-hands/shocking grasp spell or something that has a chance of killing him.

On the other hand, that orc is insanely lucky so you probably don't want to pull this plan off unless you're sure you have a spell that could kill him outright. Here are some alternatives if you don't!

Dangerous option: Tell the orc you surrender and be really cool about it. He's probably in a good mood from all the good luck coming his way so maybe he'll be somewhat amicable. Lead him to your chambers and tell him it's all his. While he's looting, go back and raise your dead friend, and any other guards, as skeletons/zombies. Cut him off as he's leaving and hope he's not too lucky and that he doesn't know what a wand of silence is!

Less dangerous option: High five the orc for his awesome banditry timing and try to make friends with him. Bonus points if the subject of katia comes up and you high five him and bond over both having slept with her. Just bro it up with him and see if he goes for it. Trying to oppose someone with that much luck seems too risky anyway.

Dmitri: Think of an offensive spell that you can cast quickly. Drop the letter only if necessary. Wait for the orc to make a further move before casting it.

Oh crap, Dmitri! You need to defend the hideout or this ogre will do horrible things, like eat the the kittens! Quick, what kind of offensive magic do you have? If you have fire base magic, use it now!

Luck certainly exists in the Elder Scrolls world. As a previous poster reminded me, the list of ingredients that Dmitri listed as needed to make Fortify Magicka potions (Ginseng, Nightshade, Water Hyacinth Nectar, etc.) are also the ingredients needed to make Damage Luck potions. (There are other ingredients that can be used to fortify magicka; but Dmitri apparently only knows those that also damage luck.)

It seems quite obvious that this cliffhanger is perfect for a scene change. Maybe too obvious?

Oh, I know Luck exists in those games, I was just playing off the previous "Realize Luck doesn't exist" comments from earlier.
