Raise one arm. Feel how this movement diverts the flow. Flex your claws. Feel how this motion inscribes a net of power. Take a moment to determine how you may direct this flow and deploy this net in a bolt of energy.

Concentrate.

To cast a spell, one must focus one's imagination and willpower on transmuting their natural magicka into something elemental. Your imagination and willpower, they are the keys. You have demonstrated admirable quantities of both in recent times. Think of the stream of magicka you have at your command. Think of fire itself.

Now. You will gather a ball of magicka in your fist. It will be easier than opening your eyes. You will ignite this ethereal ball. It will be simpler than falling asleep. You will project this bolt of elemental fire towards the targets. It will be more natural than breathing.

Anyway, those dreams you've been having may be a warning sign of things to come.

Allow me to explain:
You always had the ability to use magic, but never had the magic source. The dreams them self may actually be another magic ability...clairvoyance.
Ask Asotil about any political problems that may be happening in the country, if anyone has recently taken or fallen from power. Don't forget to ask others these questions.
When you get a chance,go to a magic guild, tell them about the dreams to see if they may be tied to an unknown magic abilities.

One more thing,(and you're not gonna like this) the next time you dream, I want to step back and allow thing to play out. Don't get involved, just observe.

Now get on with your travels, I think you're done with trying to use your fire magic without fully understanding how to actually use it. Best to stop before something really bad happens, like setting a certain guard on fire.

I'm not good at reading people, so excuse me if this is out of place, but I don't want to start anything between us.
Both serious and silly/half-silly approaches are welcome. You can't expect a reply to every post - it's not that people don't read them, but most posts don't warrant a response (mind you, this doesn't mean they are bad or uninteresting), people simply don't know what to add to them, or they disrupt some sort of hidden agenda [my case] and other than replying in a silly manner there's not much I can do. There are all sorts of theories thrown already, why not stick to mine(or whoever's idea it was)? Backtracking and retconning plot/images just adds to the fun.
(although you are right about colorful pictures attracting more attention, but I'm pretty sure most of us read every post)

You know, if you get it under control that fire thing would be a rather unique ability. All the other mages in Cyrodil that I know about need hand motions to cast spells, and to cast on something at a range they need to use a projectile instead of effecting it directly.

What you need to get is one of those minor healing spells. Apart from wasting mana, I can't think of any trouble you could get into with one of those (as far as I remember it doesn't even harm undead).

This is a viable option, but Katia has a staff now. GO GO BLUNT WEAPON SKILL! (weapons are preferable over unarmed combat unless you're a shaolin monk or something)

And by that I mean get frustrated and just hammer the apples with the walking stick. You may not be practicing magic this way, but I'm sure Asotil would still approve of the violent course of action. Gal after 'is own 'eart :') bonus points if you shout "THEN PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD" while doing this.
