Don't know why I didn't think about that. I passed all my time playing trying to get the bird to lay and totally missed the sawmill.
Also I forgot to ask last time, but I'd like to contribute to this mod. I don't have a lot of experience, beside from some creature modifications I did a long time ago. Anyway, I tried making Tinkerbull. It's my first creature, so it might not be perfect.

[NAME:tinkerbull:tinkerbull:tinkerbull] I don't think tinkerbull is the name of the species. It must be a name Tavros gave to his lusus, but I have no idea how to call it.

Re: Dwarf Fortress Troll Mod: Now with alchemization!
So this kinda just happened:
One of my (perfectly sane, I'm pretty sure) axetrolls snuck into a (also perfectly sane) civilian's apartment and murdered him IN HIS SLEEP.
Nobody seemed to notice or care. I guess that's just how trolls work.
By the way, excellent work on the mod I managed to hit the first layer of caverns (although I admit I used reveal to help) and later on I got a jadeblood migrant so I am doing fairly well in the mining department ;L
The only problem I can think of is, there is a typo in the raws that prevents trolls from being able to use enormous corkscrews:
So, I can't install screw pumps in the caverns to get rid of the water to access the rest of the cave, and instead I have to build floors across it which is an incredibly lengthy process...
There are no images in here! Joke's on you! :L
so now that the old thing has died with no hope of return, I've started one of my own like a boss... Griefstruck! (still no fancy promotional gif image, surprise surprise)
Your chumhandle is desultoryMonarch and you type in whatever way that comes naturally.
Yes, I have a Formspring. No, I don't have a reason to have a Formspring.
Re: Dwarf Fortress Troll Mod: Now with alchemization!
I just completely overhauled the mod; I really didn't like the whole "can't mine" thing (found it somewhat pointless when I started including alchemizing), so I made the mod much smaller (physical size-wise; the only actually removed content are necrostone, feverstone and bedrock)
I also added a certain orange gourd , included MaskedClaus's tinkerbull, added alchemization to dwarf mode, added some real-life metals for later use (look at your periodic table. I added everything you see there that isn't too radioactive), fixed a bunch of bugs (including the ENOURMOUS thing), and... other stuff, I think. I lost track :P
I've modded in so much just for the succession game so far...
I'm probably going to make some guitar music for it.
DF-style Homestuck (FAN)music!
EDIT: Decided to eschew the fan-music upon realization that the piles of shit that I make before I can make anything good (everyone has some!) had better be kept to myself and not forced on others >_>
Some sort of DF-style (flamencoish classical guitar) homestuck remix would be what I need. I could skip it, but hey, the next DF update may actually be coming next month, so I'll probably wait for that.
EDIT: Perhaps I could just try to play some horschestra? :P
Oh my goodness. I must abstain another two weeks for the sake of passing school, and then I think I'll finally make an account on Bay12, just for this.
I must say, I did like the idea of the bifurcated timeline; even if only because it hasn't been done before. Anyway, hopping on over to b12 now to check it out.

The bifurcated timeline idea was great. The bay12 game would have probably worked better because it would probably have better player. I'm still kind of a newbie with some aspect of the game and I would have played anyway if there was two timeline, because I would have know if I failed I wouldn't screw the entire game. Comparing the two would have been really funny.
edit:
Uh, you don't actually mention what's going on in either of those two threads, and don't link to this one, which means that the vast majority of readers, and even players, won't know what this bifurcation thing is about.

The IMPORT UNIVERSE UX; thing is for that >_>
That tells them there is another thread, in which there is no mention whatsoever of what is actually going on.

Re: Dwarf Fortress Troll Mod: Now with alchemization!
Devlog: Well, I fixed up the troll's hair.
Too bad they all seem to have a dyeing fetish and are completely incapable of having their hair cut. Hippies.
EDIT: Upon looking again, it seems that the dyeing fetish was just a coincidence. Still doesn't keep the trolls from all having really long hair, though, god damn.
EDIT 2: Yeah, fixed all that a while ago. The dyeing fetish, as it turns out, is due to a tendency for all creatures within a civ to have little genetic variation; apparently, having blood-colored stripes is considered a genetic thing (though there is no hair dyeing in the game, so I guess it makes sense)
