I'm going to lift the rule about Gwydian competing, I think. Mostly because I figure he'll be easily distrac-WOAH! Awesome submission, Shadow Phoenix! As for Zolen, I'm amused by your submission but not entirely sure I understand it! But it's still amusing! Congrats on being the first two entrants! If things remain the way they are now until July, you guys might just win the Art and Music slots by default!

So yes, that IS an excuse to systematically cripple your competition. Maybe.

I wouldn't second guess your entry, Dream, for several reasons. First,mAs long as it is Legend of the Hunter related it is acceptible. Remember that I am offering three prizes: one for best art, one for best music, and one for the most interesting or unique entry. Second, this comic has a very talented fanbase, you included. There's no room for shame here with all this talent in the way! Third, I have a pet dragon waiting in the wings to devour anyone who says they're considering making an entry and then doesn't that you don't want to anger.

Or do I? Heh heh heh.

And Dreamscythe? Don't compare yourself to anyone else. When I started drawing, I got REALLY depressed because I'd always go look at some of the more glorious pics on deviantart for inspiration, and feel down because I couldn't do that, no matter how hard I tried. Eventually, after quitting and picking it up again a few times, I looked back at what I had drawn when I first started, and saw that I'd improved. Wasn't as good as a lot of people, still aren't, but compared to myself? Damn, I'm good. So, it doesn't matter how well anyone else can draw, all that matters is how well YOU can draw. I keep everything I've drawn, even if it's stuff I hate, or messed up on really bad, so that I can remind myself how far I've come. Also so I know not to make that particular mistake again.

For an example more relevant to right now, look at the pic Shadow Pheonix entered. Do I have any hope of winning against that? Hell no, that Storm Engine is way more badass than anything I can draw right now. But I still entered. Why? Because my entries have nothing to do with him. They're all about me. And I'm not trying to sound stuck up right there, but still. I don't think of it as a contest, I just think of it as good motivation to get myself to draw. So yeah.

I do have to concur. It is a very nice piece and I think the lineart is quite good. Also the poem is both quirky and fun, which gets my approval and is making me consider adding a forth "fanwrite" section or something. ALL GLORY TO THE SPIDER KING

Now, this? Woah. I didn't even know GameBro, of all magazines, actually did a section on LotH. I just read in a preview somewhere that they found the thundersword skating section and never figured out that it wasn't the main game. Seriously, there were four pages or something of them calling the same stunt like sixty different names, only the superimposed pixelated bro imagery on top of it to make 'em look different.

...I would be most interested in those imp-busting tips, though. I always lose against 'em because they steal Gwydian's shit and run off. And without Gwydian in the party, I don't even encounter them. Gwydian is just missing parts of his inventory when he returns...

I really just made this to show my support. Making it has proven above all else how tallanted Trump is, since I STILL can't quite make sense of Aaron's outfit, among other things. Still, he's fun to draw, and someone who conjures magitech artillery just oozes awesome to me.

If it helps, I get confused with Aaron's collar all the time. I seem to have a way with collars that are a hassle both to draw and to actually wear. (Bonus points for crappy fairy drawings in the book.)

Now, I remember saying sometime back that I'm shooting for the 8th of July for the flash; not possible, I'm afraid! But FEAR NOT. This turned out to be a MUCH bigger thing than originally intended, so I'll definitely have to show something for the time LotH went on hiatus. I support my point with this authentic GIF.



I'm going all-out with this one! Things might not proceed as fast as I wanted them to, but I'm still on it. Release two weeks from now looks realistic!

In the meantime, maybe you feel like dropping some awesome fanart in here, for zobot's contest. We'll have the result of that shortly before the flash as well! So...

FANCRAFT CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT!

Ok, so from what I've seen we currently have a bajillion bits of awesome Art and only one incomplete music submission. I am contemplating eliminating the Music side of the contest and just offering three rewards for Art, unless there is still interest from some people in doing a music submission or two. Can't have a contest with just one submission....

What do people think about this?
