'Kay, so... while I was fuckin' around with notes, attempting to work out how to make music, I MAY have ACCIDENTALLY started composing a battle theme for Cuvier... what it goes like isn't really important - all you need to know is that it quotes a shitload of Final Fantasy music, as that was the first thing I worked out how to make in GarageBand, and that it sounds completely fuckin' awesome (in my head at least; I've only got about 8 seconds of it so far) - but the reason I've brought it to the team's attention is this: I can't tell which of these two names sounds better, "Tiger Shark" or "Sharktooth Bitchslap". Help?

Alternately, could anybody remind me what Cuvier's weapon's called? It might be nice to incorporate that name into the title...

Decided to start planning a track (my personal favorite) in advance, see what people though, ask for suggestions, etc. This would require vocalists (likely only speaking) for Vriska, Terezi, and Dualscar. My proposed title is as follows. (I'd like to maybe swap the "L3G1SL4C3R4TOR" out for another word but BL1ND doesn't work. Suggestions?)

Fluorite Misfortune / L3G1SL4C3R4TOR JUST1C3 : 4PPR3H3NS1ON !! / Ghost of a Hope

Guitar represents Vriska
Harpsichord represents Terezi
Organ represents Dualscar

Songs remixed: MeGaLoVania and possibly Spider's Claw/Killed By BR8K Spider!!!!!!!!, The Lemonsnout Turnabout, Eridan's Theme and possibly Science Seahorse

Opens with haunting guitar chord, fades. Slowed guitar part from MeGaLoVania, eventually accompanied by Lemonsnout Turnabout on harpsichord. Some dialogue from Terezi and Vriska's confrontation, akin to the Blind Justice Investigation flash from Homestuck where Terezi flips the coin on Vriska. Finally, everything fades. The sound of three taps are heard (dice rolling) guitar returns but playing Eridan's Theme, eventually accompanied by organ. Dualscar's voice is heard saying "Hello again, Mindfang." Finally the three themes intermingle, instruments swapping with each other occasionally, until all is broken by a chord on the organ, which symbolizes the firing of Ahab's Crosshairs.

Any suggestions?

I think Land of Wrath and Angels might work a bit better for Dualscar, since it already has an organ in it, so bluh.

(I would've liked to've used trumpets or something for the main section instead of the "dwoo, dwoo, dwoo" thing, but I haven't been able to download the instrumental set...)

This isn't the finished product, o' course, but I think it's pretty good, given that I've only been making music since the day before yesterday... anyway, I know it's never gonna be as funky-fresh as the stuff more experienced people make, so I'd like to put forward an idea: once I've made my finished version of the track, would I be able to send it to somebody to freshen it up a little bit?

I was hopin' to do something with that to make it more Milses-y, but I'm really not sure if it suits 'im... it should really be more, like, "regal" than that, shouldn't it? Since he's so up himself...

(The working titles for this one were that and "Alternian Waiter". I haven't been calling it "High-Clach Echtablichment" 'cause I don't think the theme really suits the restaurant at all, though since they're such minor elements in the story, it might not make a whole lot of sense to give Milses and the Restaurant separate themes...)

...The problem is, I don't actually know a thing about musical composition, so I'm not really sure how I'd go about doing that. Faster I can manage, but I'm not really sure what I could do to make it more "determined-sounding"; I could fiddle around for a bit until something clicks, but if anybody's got any suggestions on what I could do with it, that'd be great.

The main problem I can see with it at the minute is that it kind of sounds more like "a battle against Cuvier" than "Cuvier's battle theme". Like, it's too "villainous"; it's displaying him as an adversary that needs to be overcome, rather than showing the tune from his perspective. Does that make any sense...?

EDIT: Heehee! When I speed it up, it sounds like a Pokemon boss-battle theme...

Yes, it does. I also think it's not really all that engaging of a tune. Perhaps you could throw a couple of funky notes in there, or maybe try and change the melody around to sound a bit more gripping--quickly alternating between high and low notes, or playing the main melody at varying octaves (high notes, low notes, etc)

Kk so finally got the intro to Fluorite Misfortune done. Keep in mind the following.

1. GarageBand MIDI is/can be incredibly shitty, specifically the guitar and clavinet. Piano and organs should be fine.
2. This is only the intro; Dualscar's part comes in later and basically the entire rest of the song is going to be twice that speed.



Any suggestions on improvement?

I'm just kind of nitpicking here and since my mind's not in latin mode yet I might be wrong, but isn't tibi the dative case, not the accusative like you need?

Normally it would be accusative, but grammatically, I believe you have to say "I told to you". For whatever reason it doesn't go like that with "warned".
