Introduction:

Hey people! I am starting a new project! "A new project from a scrub like you?" "Why yes!" I respond. I've wanted to see something like this, but all of the projects that are like it are on hoooooooold or something boring like that. So I've decided to start a project that I call "Let's Read: Homestuck"! Because, why not?

Have you ever heard of a Let's Play? No, you say? Well, google it then, because I am REALLY bad at defining things! This is pretty much a take on that, except at this point SuperBlueBadger and I have made so many changes that it's not at all like a Let's Play, and more like a radioplay. But! We are doing it anyway. It's a reading of homestuck, for YouTube! So, as each frame is introduced, it gets put up in the video bluh bluh I think you get it. And, of course, we have different voice actors/actresses for each person! Who woulda thunk it?

As you could probably guess, this is a new project and our resource count is very low. And by resource count I mean we have three people including myself, and we need more voice actors! If you want to audition (Not really an audition if we are this desperate. You will probably be accepted if it's half-decent.) send an email with a voice clip and contact information to letsreadhomestuck@gmail.com and I will review your voice. And by review I mean instantly reply saying we want you because we are desperate.


I think that is everyone we need for a while, don't you? When I need other people, I will just update this post (NO, REALLY?)! So what do you guys think of my EPIC plan? Here is the channel for the whole thing, it's not done yet but it's a start. Input is wanted! And voice actors!

Hmm...I will have to see about doing some quality voice recordings for this. Seems like an interesting voice-project.

If you are looking for talent in regards to trolls, and are willing to seek someone out, I recommend this guy for Karkat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z72MP...&feature=feedf

Being able to do other character voices while maintaining the original character's voice is, I'm pretty sure, a good metric for how well you are doing that voice.

Cool! I haven't got a real microphone, I've only got a camera with one in it. I haven't tried using it yet to record my voice, but I'd like to try and maybe audition for a role!

Would you already accept auditions for a Troll or something? I'd maybe audition for Gamzee.

I guess I'd accept auditions for trolls, but it will be a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiile until any of them come into play, I think. Or not, and my memory of characters showing up in Homestuck is REALLY BAD xD

Kar would be the first Troll to show up, I believe. Followed by a few others showing up in Acts 2&3, though they really only play a significant role starting in act 4. And most of them don't even exist until Act 5.

Whereas I can't really think of anyone I could do the voice for except, way off in the corner of my mind, Doc Scratch. But HE is a long, long, LONG ways off.

Clearly I need to do some serious mulling over this issue.

But I do think if I'd be able to do any character, it would be him.

Are the lines recorded together (two people talking to each other) or seperated? cause if the latter, I won't mind trying out as one of the trolls.

I haven't really thought about that, I just assumed that the two people would send me their recordings, and I'd mix them together. I guess I'll go with that, separated recordings and then I'll personally mix them.

As it stands I will be reading narration and some of the arrow commands I will be not sticking strictly to the script.

For example, when it says John: Examine Room, I shall say something along the lines of "John chooses to examine his room."

It's certainly an idea, but for now ME IS WHAT'CHA GET. At least for the demo.

BTW: for the arrows just record your self saying "Next" in something like 20 different tones, enough for at least act one.

Fun Fact: I wanted to try out as Equius but I can't, not cause of the voice, but cause I can't pronounce half of what he says

Mic quality doesn't matter much, unless I find it to be REALLY ANNOYING to try and understand what you are saying.

Ummm, I know I'm like a total noob on here and all but I would be definitely be up for doing Rose if you don't mind someone with a British accent. I should be able to email you an audition tomorrow. Is there any specific lines you want for the audition or is it pretty much find some dialogue and go with it?

Rebel, you can just do any text that you want, you can even make some up for Rose! I don't care if you have an accent, for all we know, ectobiology may involve random accent-giving xD
