It was all the Duchess' fault, all that talk she was giving about wolves being evil creatures of the night, eating people's pigs and grandmas, being an nightmarish specter in the minds of good people. Turning people into wolves, being generally treacherous. She even said that a wolf would sooner bite you than look at you. Lies! all of them.

Racism, that what it was! prejury too! So he did the only reasonable thing.

He bit her.

Now, while he is catching his breath, maybe you know what he is called?

Well so much for loyality, looks like the {DUCHESS} isn't as loved as all that if these are the kind of people who sign up for the army. The portly one, Dee, doesn't look like he could move fast, looks strong though. The thin one, Dum, has a good range, but, he doesn't look terribly strong.

However is Felix going to deal with these brutes? There is sure to be more competent soldiers on the way...

Well anyway, Felix now finds himself at the ticket booth... but...
There is a slight problem.

He is a wolf, not that he wouldn't be allowed on board, policy of the Traverse Company is that anyone or thing with a ticket may travel on the train. Regardless of Race, state of life or unlife, Creed, Crime, bloodstained weaponry, suspicious bags, inordinate number of tentacles, lack of sanity all are allowed to make use of the Traverse company's train if they can afford the price.

Well, there is one being and one thing not allowed on the train.

The problem is as a wolf...

Felix is completely broke, this time puppy dog eyes aren't going to cut it, and besides, Felix has heard bad things come from abusing such primal forces...

Understably enough Felix doesn't like the idea of trying to hitchhike through the space between worlds, even if he could, he'd probably just fall prey to the {BIGMOUTHS} That lurk in the tunnels.

In fact only thing Felix knows of that can move freely between worlds is the mythical travellers. Who probably don't exist.

This would be a brilliant idea if it wasn't for the scary automotons that guard the cargo of the Train. Then there is the fact that most of the cargo carriages are unprotected from the raw unreality of the space between worlds.

So basically Felix doesn't wish to die a horrible death.

Well that was easy, I mean, I was practically expecting Felix would have to break into the {BARONESS'} Treasury, steal some valuables and then lope off.

Felix, needless to say does not have any gemstones.

The Dapper Rabbit sighs.
"Unfortunatly for you, only the best of the best from all the worlds work on the Train, I'm afraid you would be at a disadvantage being a scuffy vagabond and lacking opposable thumbs."
The rabbit holds up a massive clawed paw to silence Felix, woah, big hands.
"Traverse Comapany does not accept IOUs..."
The Rabbit's eyes flash red.
"Of course you could always GIVE ME YOUR SOUL... It was a joke old chum, a joke, do try not to look so frightened."

Felix goes away more than a little disheartened and of course possessing a newfound terror of rabbits.

Felix considers his next move... perhaps he'll try assembling a crack team of wolf-thieves to steal all the valuables from the {DUCHESS'} vault...

Brilliant odds on that succeeding, just brilliant...

Felix considers his next move, which will not conisist of suicidal break ins. He could always go back to the {DEEP DARK AND PARTICULARY GRIM WOODS}...
Wasn't he going to make a plan that wasn't suicidal?

As Felix wracks his supposedly cunning brain, he notices something on the ground...

Well at least it seems as though Felix has only a small reality breaking hammerspace, he can only put small items in it...

Felix's ear twitches as he hears the stamping of the {DUCHESS'}, though he could be half deaf and still hear those people. Still as much as they lack in ability they don't lack for numbers. So Felix cuts to the chase and flees to the station platform.


As could have been expected, as Felix always get bad things happening to him, the train has not arrived, as in, it is not there.

This throughly unpleasant and ominous LARGE BLACK WOLF is. Felix has encountered him before. Felix was usually substantially closer to death after these encounters.

"Hello little half-fox, today, I'm going to tear the flesh from your bones, the {DUCHESS'} guards won't find anything left after I'm finished."

Felix objects to being called half-fox, he is infact of noble lineage, or at least he likes to think so.

What was the name of this brute again?
Felix seems to have forgotten, or perhaps he just wants to insult the black wolf.
On that matter, how is Felix going to avoid getting killed?

Felix panics, but sees a rather conveniently placed can of midnight blue paint, he cleverly tips it over the black wolf, thus making a rather more fearsome double of himself.
Unfortunately Felix didn't manage to hide, but on the bright-side, everyone thought it was Felix who decimated the Soldiers later. It was of course the black wolf. Felix's bones are used in CAT FOOD, for some strange reason.

...Yes, the rather appropriately called black as sin wolf, Brutus. Brute by name and by nature. This one is a true BIG BAD WOLF, and he'd do a whole lot more than huffing and puffing.

He is a vargulf, a lone wolf gone mad, who kills for the feel of it, rather than for food, despised by wolf and man alike (or anything with some self-preservation).

He cannot be reasoned with, pleaded with or bribed. He is insane, a being mad with bloodlust. A mind tortured with visions of death and ruin.

There was only one reason Felix surived his encounters with this lunatic. He ran.

But running is not always an option, trouble has a habit of seeking you out and in the end...

It takes Felix some time to realise that he is alive and looking directly at a lamp. he flinches. Some-one has bandaged him up, more than that, he is healed somwhat... how long has he been asleep?

Then he notices that there is others in... he is in a train compartment?

Felix just nods, not having ever been called a noble beast before, half-fox, mongrel, pest, vermin, Laura, Blue, mold, fiend, cad , coward, craven, loser, yellow-belly, poor excuse for a wolf... and so on, but he has never been called a "noble beast"



This would appear to be a sort of troll kind of thing, it seems to be absorbed in looking at it's feet and hands. What it is doing away from a bridge is anybody's guess.

With much trepidation and other words found in a thesaurus (not that strange memetic dinosaurs have much to do with this) Felix sat on a seat.

In particular he sat on the seat next to the window, due to window seats being generally better... though in this case Felix may regret that particular decision. It was also next to the AfroKnight, which Felix deemed to be the least bizzare and life threatening.

It would seem that there is some time before these travellers reach the next stop...
It seems unlikely Felix would do nothing thoughout the wait.
