All their technology is made out of bubbles. Just bubbles.
I was thinking a coral/bubble combo.
The screens are bubbles.
Everything else is coral.
The Mad Scientist at least needs strait up steam-punk like machines and a bubble-punk eye.

ok, well if you don't want to do a power of 2 thing with the ammount of coders, what about that so far both heroes are (somewhat inept) coders?
I didn't say anything about the number of coders (if any) we should have, and in fact have no right to speak on behalf of the entire group on that matter; all I was saying was that we have no obligation to follow those kinds of Homestuck-set 'patterns'. If you're suggesting it because you think it would make and excellent story point, then by all means. If it's just to fulfil a cookie-cutter pattern though then I feel that's the wrong way to approach the project.
I am 0kay with this.
I hope it would be okay if I offered some ideas? Because if there are two heroes, and both are coders, there is a bunch of bluh bluh symbolism and plot points I can muster up.
Binary code is a frequently reoccurring subject in coding, and the two numbers used are 1 and 0. Maybe the two characters could have a sort of 1/0 motif? If that makes any sense.
-I mentioned something about Alpha being the leader- alpha represents the number 1 in greek numerals.
-The scratch is initiated by a needle (such as echidna's quill) scratching a round device (such as a beat mesa) across it's diameter. Urgh, this sounds sort of silly but 1 is shaped kind of like a straight line (somewhat pointy) and a zero is kind of like a circle (somewhat round).
So basically, the scratch would be 0 divided by 1.
-0 divided by 1 equals 0. 0 is a mathematical representation of nothing. (ie, nonexistance) After the scratch, the incipisphere ceases to exist. (ie nothingness).
-Perhaps the hero of time could be hero 0?
-1 don't know if we're do1ng typ1ng quirks, but 1f we're go1ng w1th th1s 1dea,
-I kn0w a c0uple 0f quirks that might be appr0priate.
-I dislike good cop/bad cop (red oni, blue oni) cliches as much as anyone, but perhaps Hero 1 could server as the more charismatic, friendly, mediator type leader and unite the team? The definition of unity is: The state or quality of being one
I'm cool with bubblepunk.
As for setting, are we going for mythical atlantis type buildings or more modern architecture.![]()
ok... let's move ahead... focus on something perhaps? we really need to lay the groundwork for the individual character stages, which is where the real meat and fun is.
This is... interesting. And for the record, I thought of a Squiddle session before Andrew mentioned it. Although, it will probably be a while before I post the fruits of my labor.
I like the idea of the Squiddles becoming the Horrorterrors. IDE: Squiddles were always monstrous horrorterrors, but the majority of the adventure will instead portray them cartoonishly, so that out sparring human intellects can handle them. But they were always abominations. This will be a big reveal that will blow our minds. Wow, really? Monstrous multidimensional abominations the whole time?
Also, Gl'bgolyb is one of the squiddle's pets that gets sent to the troll universe (but not a squiddle himself, perhaps a sprite). Perhaps the squiddles create all of Paradox Space, and therefore going to the Furthest Ring after completing Sglub technically counts as traveling to their new universe. Therefore, Sburb/Sgrub/etc. are actually running inside of Sglub.
This does carry certain implications, though. The Horrorterrors seem to align themselves with Derse and oppose the creation of new universes, so it would be odd for them to have their own Sglub session. But perhaps there would be a reason behind it. Perhaps Skaia has some sort of adverse effect on Paradox Space. Maybe LRD ENGLISH is involved somehow.
I'll try to keep an eye on this, though I'm too busy at the moment to directly involve myself. Also, I currently have plans of my own that I'm developing.
Maybe they should appear as horrorterrors in hussienasty mode and as a sorta squiddle-horrorterror hybrid in hero-mode.

Either way, I'd like to continue this project, but I fear it's running a bit dry as of late.
I think we were fleshing out the world. And then working on our individual characters hopefully.
Subscribing to thread to give later input!

Is this still ongoing?
I do enjoy the tropes.
Anything to get the project moving is good by me.
what if becoming the big huge horrorterrors was the squiddles version of god tier?
LRD ENGLISH CHANNEL. Just throwing that out there.
>A thread an a lot of SQUIBYs. Actually, 11 just, but still...
This... should definitely stop being a dead project. If I were active on the MSPA IRC back during the hiatus this would be like my favorite project ever. We are already currently doing COTL; why not revive this too. Fan Projects that don't die are awesome? Hey Tren I will help as much as I can with this to keep it alive ok!
One idea that I really liked: naming the Squiddles after all the US States.
But it is still possible that the Squiddle Session consisted of humanoid beings and the magical girls in the Squiddle flash are a few of the players. Hussie might also decide to focus on the squiddle session a bit more in-depth than just giving a plot summary of their session, which is the logical thing. Personally I hope he doesn't because that means another Hivebent but I am almost sure that he will give some horrorterror exposition in a future Act 6 intermission.
People that have to be in who are not even the 48 players:
-Dr. Squiddle, whose theme is a bonus song in the Jailbreak album and who is probably not Dr. Brinner
-Billy
-Princess Berryboo
-Plumbthroat
and the magical girls if the squiddles turn out to be humanoid... well before becoming horrorterrors.
I was thinking about this idea at work today, and I have a number of grandiose ideas I'd like to wedge in, however, there is certainly enough content here and now to kick things off. The concepts can float around forever if we wait for everyone to be happy with every aspect of every facet of the session. As I understand this new and fantastic medium Andrew Hussie has built out of nothing, the story and its details are best decided on-the-fly, as viewers start observing the details as they unfold.
I'll spend a few days browsing these ideas but I'd like to at least kick this off, if not pen a whole version of the session myself. (I don't expect everyone to be happy about me going off on my own to try to do this, but, I mean, I'm not claiming exclusive rights. I'm a little surprised this project isn't further along.)
Edit: most importantly: characterization first, classes and lands after. The characters determine the titles and lands, not the other way around =/

Hey there.
Do you guys still need help coming up with individual characters? Because I'd be happy to contribute a few.
I really want to be a part of this, you guys. I'm willing to beg and grovel if necessary.
