>Realize the puddle is on the floor, and you are on the ceiling.
Man, punch that puddle. It's got no right to do this to you.
I HAVE A FORMSPRING! (cause it's hip and 'in') Visit my formspring now! (Click me! Or don't. That's cool too.)
I GOT MY PESTERCHUM WORKING. PESTER ME SOMETIME. I'M toastedRoyalty.
You feel so lonely, you wish you could just burst.
This is the worst day of your life. Or, the best day of your life, because you can't remember yesterday; presumably you were born today. It's not clear how thoughts and feelings could arise from the elements, but here you are. You haven't met anyone else like yourself - your peers are all just wind and water. Your first day as a thinking cloud and you've already screwed up and been yelled at!
You've been a real ham-handed jerk here haven't you. You want to make a gesture of apology to the newbie but you're not sure how. Maybe offer to show him the ropes?
Ah yes, the Knots. The slang name for that sprawling twisted loopy metropolis, the blue city at the heart of your country. You suppose that if one continued the metaphor, the Ropes would be the roads that originate in the blue city and continue on through the countryside.
Or maybe you've got it all backwards, and the roads came from beyond the earth to converge in the city.
You got a C in Geography, okay? It wasn't your strong suit.
You just visited the knots a few days ago and aren't keen on returning to that hubbub for a while. Say, that gives you an idea...
"Would you like to visit the edge of the world?"
>Expel urine onto cloud. Makes you feel good.
Suddenly you feel foolish for thinking about bursting. Is it even possible? Would you become an unthinking puddle of droplets? Suddenly, the whole idea seems kinda scary!
Maybe...maybe this day isn't so bad? Maybe you can make a friend!
Ow. Let's pretend that never happened.
Wait was that be rude? Do clouds have personal space? They sure as heck didn't cover this stuff in Map School. (You dropped out. In any case, only PhD Mapmakers can even come close to understanding the layout of the Knots; it's worse than international macroeconomics.
Hey maybe you should stop rambling about boring trivia.)
Anyway, you don't need to fly, you can walk there! Coincidentally it's not far from this very spot...
Hehe, now the cloud looks like a squid.
Wow you feel silly! You haven't even introduced yourself.
"Say, fella, what's your name? I've never seen a blue and black cloud before."
>Cloud: Tell him you have no name.
>Guy: Name cloud Rex.
"Oh no I don't have a name what do I do? Are names important? Maybe I should make one up, like..."
"Haha, those suggestions would be almost as goofy as if I was named "Blue," the guy says.
"...is your name Blue?"
"Who calls their kid after the name of their city? No, everyone in blue country is named after a shade of blue. My mom is Azure and my dad is Turquoise. Although it's just a name, yeah? Our faces are all the same color.
My name's Teal!"
"We could call you after a type of cloud but you're always changing shape!
Hey what if we call you Blue? You're from this country, but you're not a blue person you're a cloud so you don't have to follow our naming scheme..."
A unique name for a unique cloud!
You've arrived at the edge of the world, by the by.
