Exclamation HS Music Discussion 2: Let there be a fan-music contest!

    Here are the facts:

    1. The previous HS Music Discussion thread is now 99 pages long. Good times were had, let it rest peacefully now.
    2. This is the new HS Music Discussion thread where the fans (and occasionally the musicians themselves) talk about the music of Homestuck and weird stuff like eating things they find in parking lots.
    3. I don't have a good tagline for this topic yet and I'll change it later when I do.
    4. There's a new album coming up when the End of Act 5 flash is released on 10/25. What will it be? Will it be as awesome as the other records released by What Pumpkin?
    5. While I can't tell you the answer to the first question yet, the answer to the second question is most definitely a yes.

Alright then. Chat away, Mr. Chataway.

    SOME GOOD REFERENCE MATERIAL:

I ate an M&M I found in a parking lot once. I'm not even joking about that.

Man when I was a kid I used to eat stuff off the ground all the time. In retrospect it was kind of unsanitary.

I think I always had that sort of thing snatched away before disaster could occur.

Also, music. I'm looking forwards to hearing Penumbral Phantasm, myself.

Penumbra Phantasm has been in development for so long though... What are the odds it'll be the EoA music, or on the EoA Album? Or that it's even done yet?.......

As with all things that are number 2, I will suggest The Bruce Willis Alternative.

Re: HS Music Discussion 2: This is the tagline

I was under the impression that it was made specifically to be the EOA5 music, and that since the flash is already 75% done, the song has been done for quite a while. Maybe that's a conclusion I jumped to without thinking about it??? Either way we'll be waiting a good twelve days for it still.

EDIT: Also, with Negrocity/Black categorization from previous thread- I never heard any of Black in Blackest Heart (unless it actually is there and I'm just not noticing it because of how it's all slowed down and broken up?), and Ballad of Jack Noir is totally different. As far as I know, it was Negrocity->Black->Octoroon Rangoon->Time on my Side.

Yeah, I never noticed Black in Blackest Heart; it's just mentioned in the song credits is all and I thought it was funny. Will look into Time on My Side. As for Gardener/Carefree Perigee/etc., I wasn't including HftH or any music that wasn't on an album yet. I'll do a second pass and fix that.

You guys forgot Earthsea Borealis, which is a remix of Endless Climb.

Also I can't wait for the hinted second album to be released on 10/25

Guys I think the Ancestor Album will be the only one to come out on 10/25.

The reason we have waited this long is because Andrew wants it to come out on a day that most fans will actually be visiting the site and are therefore more likely to buy it. Burying the ancestor album under Volume Nine would basically murder that strategy.

Who says 8 has to be next? Let's skip to 9, and come back to 8 later.

Are those statistics from the albums as they stand now, or how they were when they were released? (Before some artists left)
