    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

I'd join in on the "Coyote is a rock" gag, but I'd like to comment that something bad might happen between Annie and Ysengrin in the next few pages. At least that's the vibe I'm getting.

Edit: Wait no I've got one.
How can you hope to outrun me? WHEN I'M ALREADY EARTH.
Cause like Earth. It's the planet. And it's like. One giant rock. So Rock's like everywhere and--
    Ah I'll shush.

Coyote makes the best rock group. Do you know when his next tour is?
    I have spoilers now?
    What's up with that?

While everyone is looking at the last 3 panels, I'll be laughing over the first panel. "OH NO! A POINTING FINGER!"

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

    That was strangely ominous.

    Like.

He does not even exist when people are not looking at him.

Sort a reverse Weeping Angles thing going on there maybe.

Also I wa stinking maybe the level Of his power would vary depending on who was seeing him and makin him not rocks.
Which does not really make sense I guess.
But if it does it would be a good reason to be fond of Annie over, say, the magical orderly stuff guy.

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

Hmmmn. I dunno. I don't think there is a stop-existing-while-no-one-is-looking thing going on there. I think it was more like Coyote thought it would be more amusing to turn into a rock than to just sit around in the normal form we see him in um, how he's usually depicted uh, looking like Coyote. After all, it seems it is not living beings that keep the magical world going round, it's formerly living beings that make the magical world go round. Etherics would appear to be the continuing legacy of departed souls, including (especially?) those whose parting leaves no other legacy.

I'm still swimming in the in-universe philosophical ramifications of Coyote's bombshell revelation. To what extent can thoughts be said to exist? Do passing thoughts drift off into the ether after they are forgotten? This chapter is pretty deep for a chapter centred on a whimsically-natured character.
    I have spoilers now?
    What's up with that?

Alternatively, nothing existential is happening, and Coyote is simply shapeshifting like he was at the start of the chapter. #Occam'sRazor

I dunno, but whatever it is I give him two pages to do it.

Probably just say something like, this is a big secret.

This would be a pretty decent theory if the entire chapter hadn't been "existential things happen"

I immediately noticed that 95% of everyone on the opposite side of every argument were complete idiots. After a while, however, I started to realise that 90% of everyone on my side of every argument were also idiots. Then I realised that statistically, that meant there is a 90% chance that I am an idiot. And now I don't post on the Bioware forums anymore.

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

I still doubt Coyote stops being Coyote there, even if being isn't something he does, per se. Annie's walk home is going to be tense.

Anyway, has anyone made a firefox icon from this panel yet?

I'm working on it right now, but my photosnop skills are not the sharpest around, so I'd like to find out my work is being redundant.

And because my connection is being a butt and did not let me post this before I got to this point, I'm going to put this thing out there. Yeah, there are a few stray pixels, and there is definitely more edge cleanup to be done, but that's what I've got so far:

Naturally the format will also have to be changed to .ico for windows, but that's after cleanup on aisle 5 is done.

    This is a marvelous idea.

I might take it ifit is ever completed even though I use Chrome.

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

I'd love to say it was my own idea, but I found the idea while reading this very thread. It. Just. Has. To. Happen. If it hasn't already. It would probably be suitable enough for Chrome, too, if that's all you use.

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

At this stage, I’ll call it good enough. The minor things matter less when they’re shrunken, and due to the outline pretty much complementing the background all over you’ll never get it much better than this without obsessive color correction or a vector trace or a better original or something.

EDIT: noticed a really nasty artifact (look at his hindleg-eye). will re-do later.

    EDIT: re-done. now it’s good enough-declarable.

(Well, my gigantic desktop firefox icon is. the launcher on my panel is still the normal one for now)
EDIT: Coyote would be the best denizen
It works best on my desktop since Ubuntu lets you make icons whatever size you want (and icons can be all differents sizes) so there's a giant Coyote in the top-left of my screen. I always only use the little 24x24 firefox icon on my panel instead of the desktop launcher though

The image there is spaced such that Coyote's body (that is, everything but his tail) is centred in the image since I thought it looked better that way, but if you're going to scale the image down a lot you may want to crop out the whitespace first.

    So. Wolf tree guy.

I understand his upset ness a little bit.

I mean, I could imagine him thinking that way, I have no want to worship Coyote. It just makes sense tht he would think like that.

Why would you not want to worship Coyote? He is a far more awesome god than any of those we have in the real world. Imagine how a coyote-based religious society would work.

Ysengrin is quickly becoming my favorite character in the comic.

It's funny because while everyone calls him insane or wild, he's probably the sanest character in the comic, even if not the most tolerant or reasonable.
