    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

I kinda feel like Annie, while hurt, is gonna be more confused and concerned than angry with Ys. She'll encounter him and he'll "act" like he has no recollection of what happened, and she'll just be like "wtf is going on," rather than "man I guess Ys is a dick."

Everybody acts like Annie trusts the forest people too much, but I find it hard to believe she would be surprised if she found out Coyote was a huge jerk.

Basically I hope Annie is smart enough to act the proper hero, rather than just act angry for the sake of some base drama.

Honestly, I love how this is exactly how the court feels about the forest. They can be great, but they are simply too unpredictable. Too bestial. A common theme within the court is form and order.

It's interesting that court's view of the forest as unpredictable and bestial, seeking to posture and show aggression to establish dominance, is so clearly orchestrated/encouraged by Coyote.

Well, Coyote is the one who divided the Court and the Forest in the first place.

I wonder if he had a hand in Jeanne's death?
Also, on a scale of one to oh nooooooo, how likely is it that Coyote's tooth is going to serve some sinister purpose?
ANDREW why are Dave's shoes colored differently on pg. 6231 and pg. 6247?

    I'd say that's a solid "oh nooooooo!"

This reveal also explains to us something that has been bothering Annie for a little while. Red told Annie that Ysengrin planted the Tok Tok, while Ysengrin insisted in the Court that he had never seen it there until months later. I didn't make that connection until I saw the Tok Toks mentioned in the comments section, but it is definitely a thing.
    I have spoilers now?
    What's up with that?

New thing for me to consider and worry about. How much crap has Coyote made him or anyone else forget about?

Alternatively: Coyote did it himself while in disguise.

By the way, this next-to-last panel is probably relevant re: Jones is not a robot, yes/no?

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

Man, I think you guys are right about Ysengrin and the Tik Toks. Sure looks like Coyote is doing his best to cause trouble between the Forest and the Court.

    A couple end-of-chapter thoughts:

    1) Just noticed that the thumbnail for this chapter is a picture of Coyote holding Ys' stolen memory. There were two "Great Secrets" in this chapter: the one Coyote told Annie, and the secret that Coyote steals memories (which, presumably, no one but Coyote himself knows).

    2) Coyote may be terrible, but Coyote art is still some of the best art.

For somebody who hates humans, Ysengrin sure knows a lot about human musculature.

Now we know why Ys always trusts Coyote.
Because all the fears and doubts he obtains over time eventually get eaten by Coyote, thus rendering it futile to try and get Ys to go against Coyote. It's woven deep into his psyche.

Pretty crazy heartstrings. Coyote's body language is so excellently portrayed in this comic. The carefree, smug, yet clearly playful attitude. Tom is great.

    e:

Coyote removes that which would make Ysengrin kind.

    Think about that.
There's an interesting quote from the GKC board. Great thought.

I also notice Coyote's head is in the way, suggesting something needs censoring.

I think Tom has a thing for trees.

What else do you think Yss has forgotten? The incident at the court? The incident by the river?

But he was shown without his robe before, there is no tree-dong. Maybe Coyote's positioning is just symbolic.

You mean it's symbolic for how Coyote is a dick?
I immediately noticed that 95% of everyone on the opposite side of every argument were complete idiots. After a while, however, I started to realise that 90% of everyone on my side of every argument were also idiots. Then I realised that statistically, that meant there is a 90% chance that I am an idiot. And now I don't post on the Bioware forums anymore.

    Hah!

It's also very clear in this panel how Coyote has completely stripped Ysengrin of everything he is, leaving him this empty, angry husk that doesn't even have enough pride to realize he's in the shape of man. I wonder why Coyote does this, though. To what end does breaking Ysengrin serve? We assume he knows Grin's true nature from that episode where he made Annie approach him while out of his tree body.

    Re: Gunnerkrigg Court

IDE/Theory. Around the page where Coyote puts the bind on Annie's wrist, Ysengrin notices it and tells her not to worry. The author commentary says "He's seen one of those before." I bet it is how he lost his right ear, which would suggest that in some way he has stood up to Coyote and failed in the past.
