Eh, I just had this in my head. If we really want to just name it after a bell, I'd as soon say Liberty. I'd not be surprised if Calvin managed to get a crack in it before long.

Welcome! It's good to finally see you in person. We've spoken before quite often. Given your father's line of work, after all, it's only natural that we'd get to know each other well. I'm PROFESSOR YEW, pleasure to make your acquaintance at last.
Congratulations on reaching your SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY. Unlike many novice trainers, your parents deemed the young age of twelve far too early for you to leave home, even with the protection of a POKEMON. But now the agreed-upon date has come, and your parents have given you their blessing to depart if you so wish.
And it just so happens that, thanks to my close working relationship with your father's breeding practice, I have a Pokemon ready and waiting for you. Come by my laboratory today as soon as you can. I'll be eagerly awaiting your arrival!
Before your journey can begin, there are a few questions you must answer!
What is your name?
Are you a BOY or a GIRL?
You live in the IOTAVI REGION. What is the name of the SMALL TOWN from which you came?

No, Eggshelled is not abandoned. My two artists are either swamped with RL stuff or dealing with computer problems, so the next update is a little delayed. And as there's not much more I can do to help Dreamlinger on its merry way and I'm currently bashing my head against writer's block on the other project I'm working on, I decided to let the rampaging voices of "hey this would be a fun idea" out of my head for a little while and made a Pokemon story. It won't ever be graphically excellent - mostly relying on sprites from the games with minimal or no editing, and simple tileset maps made via RPGMaker - but I hope the story makes up for it.
I'm not exactly sure how Battles will work, so... taking suggestions!
Also, unless explicitly stated otherwise, a character's sprite is never the character they were in their original appearance: for example, Professor Yew is not secretly Cheryl in disguise.
Beyond that, I have a loose idea of where the story's going to go, but a lot is still up in the air. Let's see how it turns out.

On Eggshelled -
Really sorry, life decided I didn't need one outside of work for the time being. I'll get back to it soon! Just didn't want to bump it to say I wasn't doing anything.
You are a BOY. Your name is CALVIN, and you live in OBSCURITY.
Re: Pokémon Rust: A sprites-and-text adventure in a (semi) familiar setting
Calvin's last name NEED to be Hobbes. YESH.
Also, he lives at City town, because I'm so creative hahah
Please call me "Spark" :c
Your chumhandle is zephyrMagikoopa. You are not really sure if there is an accurate way of describing the way you type. I mean you sometimes capitalize. but sometimes you dont and just put it all lowercase and no punctuation at all and there are just so many weird quirks that you have and like stuff and yeah you are not sure its possibly and if it was it would be very hard. You DO use some (generally weird) emoticons and also corret your typos whenever possible though. *correct o0o
Re: Pokémon Rust: A sprites-and-text adventure in a (semi) familiar setting
Your name is CALVIN ANDREW HOBBES. You are SIXTEEN years old and have lived most of your life in the small town of HEPHSTERDAM, on the northern edge of the IOTAVI REGION. Your father is a POKEMON BREEDER by trade, and works closely with the local professor, PROFESSOR YEW, and her assistant. Your mother is a JOURNALIST and spends most of her time at home.
You have had something of a reputation as a TROUBLEMAKER ever since you were very young, and coupled with your WILD IMAGINATION has kept you well on the bad side of many of your neighbors. While you generally mean well, you have a lot of CRAZY IDEAS and very little RESTRAINT, as well as a somewhat SKEWED view of the world. You've always enjoyed STORIES of the world beyond your village home, particularly the tales from far-away regions of traveling trainers braving the odds and facing down nature's wrath, wild monsters, and megalomaniacal criminals armed with nothing more than their LIVING WEAPONS OF MASS DES-...
err...
You mean LOYAL AND FAITHFUL POKEMON FRIENDS. Yeah, that's what you meant.
Nevertheless, while your father is a breeder, you've never actually had a Pokemon of your own. Your family doesn't own any pets - to your dad, Pokemon are business, and he likes to leave his work at work when he can. The closest you had were toys given to you when you were younger. And while your energetic mind took those gifts and went wild, you still spent much of your childhood eagerly awaiting the day you'd be allowed loose on the world with a Pokemon of your own.
Not that you never tried to get that day to come sooner...
But nevertheless, it's finally here. Today is your SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY and even though WINTER will begin within a week, you are taking the Pokemon you were promised and setting out into the world, weather be damned.
There are probably some last-minute things you should take care of first, though, before heading off to the Professor's lab. What do you do first?

City naming pattern established. See who gets it first. =)
Re: Pokémon Rust: A sprites-and-text adventure in a (semi) familiar setting
==> Calvin: Comb your hair!
Nah.
==> Check your PC for stuff.
Inventory:
-Empty-
PC Storage:
x1 Bag of Marbles
x1 Twine Spool
x2 Vampire Teeth
x1 Potion
x1 Deck of Cards
x4 Firecrackers
x1 PokeDoll
x2 TM [ERROR]
x1 Poster
It's been a while since you cleaned your storage out, but you never did put a ton of things in the computer anyway. The majority of your random junk is in your sock drawer, where it's always been. You snag the Potion and contemplate whether or not you need any of the other stuff.
==> Then grab your wagon! Maybe your sled too, since winter's coming.
Heck yes there's snow and heck yes you'll be going sledding. You grab your SLED out from its place behind your cabinet.
You haven't had your WAGON for years, though. You took one of many tumbles down the hill outside of town and it finally gave up the ghost back when you were... oh thirteen? Maybe twelve? Your parents never replaced it.
==> Go see MOM before you leave.
Ugh. The dreaded "goodbye" moment. Not because you're feeling especially sappy about bidding your family farewell for a while - in fact, you're a bit antsy to get on with it - but because you know there's probably going to be a lecture coming. We can procrastinate on that a little.
Stall too long though and your dad will probably tell you to shovel the walk before you leave.
==> Play games on your computer!
Eh, you've never been much for being prompt. Let's waste some time online.

The Floating Country, my WHATAMIDOINGventure! The Human Inequality, AKA the adventure I'm actually working on right now. where 'right now' means 'more recently than the other'
Also, you should look at It's Anyone's Game, and possibly update it! Cause it's awesome like that.
Also formspring because why not.
