    Aw, my Efficiency V Unbreaking III pick broke. Deciding to completely mine out two slime chunks to near bedrock probably wasn't helping, though. >_>

    Unbreaking means sometimes it won't count the use when it i used. Then put it with Efficiency, which makes EVERYTHING break faster as well as not taking double-damage for non-pickaxe items, it's a pretty sweet combo.

    Oh nooooo, upside-down half-slabs will spawn mobs again. :< Fortunately, I think regular half-slabs still won't.

    Protip: When building a one block path in the End, be wary of spawning Endermen when you travel back. They don't care that there is no room along the path you just built and will gladly knock you off into the void.

    Though if you hold shift and look down you can just kind of nudge them off, which is hilarious.

    So... I've been playing through all of Vechs' Super Hostile Series, and I'm kinda nervous about the new features on challenge maps (mostly lag spikes)
    Also... custom mob spawners and silverfish appocalypse...
    Mojang should stop taking advice from Vechs.......

    I'm already imagining it. Charged Creeper spawners and Endermen spawners that spawn Endermen carrying TNT around. Though it could've been worse, I mean can you imagine, in addition to what's going to be added, spawn editing Skeletons and Zombie Pigmen with enchanted weapons so that they can poison, set ablaze, and/or knock around the player?

    In regards to Vechs' Super Hostile Series, has Vechs mentioned what item he's gonna have to use to replace his enchanted battle signs with since signs will be stacking in the next update?

    I don't think he cares about the stackability (see "digging Fish")
    (The signs are a reference to one of his favorite LP'rs Zisteou)

    Also there will be no more snapshots for the rest of this month. aparrantly everything is bugfixes and attempting to lower hardware usage, so this is all the features we'll get in 1.3
    ( basicaly, 12w27a - bugs = 1.3 )

    EE. Enchanted signs will still refuse to stack (just checked) so there will be no problem there.

    I hope I'm putting this in the right Minecraft thread... >_>;

    Anyway... ever since MCPatcher introduced an extended texture feature via the Connected Textures mod, I've been having a bit of fun improving my Painterly Pack. This is just to be showy :P.


    Now to work on the snow golems' pumpkin overlay that was implemented with RandoMobs (also on MCPatcher).

    Man, I haven't played Minecraft in forever I managed to kick the habit last Summer. There's probably been tons of new updates.

    I think I'll pick it back up during the Homestuck drought.

    more than that. 1.8 changed everything.

    basically, everything is different, and anyone from 1.7 (you) will hate it. oh, and you get hungry now.

    and worldgen doesn't work the same. it now sucks.

    I hate the swamp biome. so ugly!
    I do miss the Alpha and 1.7 worldgen however.
    Minecraft Alpha especially.

    I miss some things about the older worldgens, such as the coasts. There is a petition somewhere on the minecraft forums to bring the actual coasts back, since as of now coasts consist of blocks of sand replacing the blocks of the biome when close to water and occasional totally flat beaches. I totally support that cause, read more here!

    Swamp biome was nice because it was very flat and therefore a great place to buld. Then the water became sewage.

    I bought it right after 1.1 was releashed, so I never delt with the old generator.
    In other news, I've been experamenting with creating structures and traps with the snapshot, and i created a Jungle Temple "map".
    I think it may be a mini-ROMhack :P (I can't seem to beat it, and I'm the one who made it... I'm blaming this on the low fps of the weekly builds.)

    ALSO. I'm slightly disapointed at the new ability to gro netherwart in the overworld. It makes my Reinforced Nether Network Farm less useful
    And do any of you guys actively utelize the nether (quicktravel)?

    Go to a river. Any river, really. Look at the water. It is dark and murky, oftentimes also greenish or brown. Not because it's full of sewage, but because it is fucking water.
    Swamp water is usually much nastier, but in Minecraft it's just slightly darker.
    ...I could be completely wrong though.

    Yeah. I love how everyone hates the swamps in Minecraft because they are ugly. Like swamps aren't ungly in real life.
    (personally I think they aren't even wretched enough to be called swamps.
