Alright, I am finally trying LoL again, and this time I'm going to play some bot matches to adjust from Dota 2. Hopefully this goes better than last time.
Nasus is the greatest. Forever.
The last time I played Nasus, I ended up being against Trundle. It was one of my worst experiences, since there was essentially no way I could win trades and the Trundle was good enough to not push.
If I had been anticipating correctly though, I probably would have gotten Cloth Armor + 5 pots for ultimate survival.
No.
Nasus can't win trades with anybody. Q a minion for a last hit, hit W on the enemy if they get frisky. He's also very poor at the moment because he's a top with a very bad early game in exchange for having an amazing but incredibly kitable lategame.
Nasus is still my main. I can toplane with him quite well, so if you ever need one just ask me.
...Once I get a better connection. I've had to quit League for a long time because I moved to a new house and was forced to use wireless.
Anyway, yeah. I can still excel against nasty toplanes, and still get decent farm. Even if I do badly early on, I can easily come back and start destroying EVERYTHING lategame. Even against Renektons, Irelia, etc.
You may as well give the advice "don't die" or "don't lose." Saying "don't get kited" is meaningless; Nasus can and will be kited in lategame fights, which mitigates a lot of the power he gets from his massive farm scaling. Lategame, sure, you can AFK farm forever, but it's not going to be an effective strategy. Being kited isn't just a thing where a guy slows Nasus and runs away during the laning phase.
I'm just saying, if it takes too long to catch the guy, don't go after him. Instead, just farm, defend, or push a lane, whichever is best for the situation. Unless the guy's taunted you, nothing forces you to go after him.
You aren't really understanding that I'm not talking about 1v1 situations, I'm talking about the fact Nasus can get kited to death in teamfights which greatly limits his endgame utility. He's very strong but unless his team supports him almost like he's a carry he's got a very hard time getting into position to do his smashy thing later, and you can't just play a 4v5 with Nasus split pushing forever.
Yeah, Nasus is seriously not viable because of his total immobility. People like Renekton, Xin Zhao, even RIVEN suffer incredibly in the late game due to kiting, and despite being able to easily 1v1 the strongest ADCs it takes incredible skill, luck, and team cooperation to ever get in range to do so.
And these are people with dashes, cc, and stickiness.
Nasus, if he ever will be viable, needs to fill the role of antibruiser- i.e. someone like Darius or Yorick who you know won't be able to jump to carries in the late game but can hose the shit out of enemy bruisers in solotop. Except he loses solotop to Riven, Irelia, Jax, and basically everyone else. The only way I have ever found to play effective Nasus is as a jungler, and even then your ganks rely on stupid people hard-pushing their lane, because if you can't get behind them to use Wither then good luck closing the gap. Nasus is an epic pubstomp due to the highest endgame 1v1 potential in the entire roster, the fact that nobody ever wants to man up and push to win, and the fact that enemies let you farm for hours and only fight 1v1. But if the opponent's team has anything like coordination he's incredibly useless, because he just becomes a version of Darius with no early game instead of an obnoxiously overpowered early game.

I ended up managing to get the game reinstalled after a patch bug happened a few days ago (took this long because I'm on a crappy hotel internet connection) and played a bot game as Diana. She reminds me of Cho'Gath a bit, what with a lot of of her right-click damage coming from ability power and her semi-spammable nukes. The arc of her Q reminds me a bit of trying to land spill damage with Templar Assassin in Dota 2. Both require really good positioning to hit every creep in the wave, and it's immensely satisfying when you do.
I'd like to employ my summoner's name amongst your list. Name's Pyloncrafter on NA; AbomasnowXIII on EU West.
Just played on an all-support team as AP Soraka.
And won.
It's the best thing.
Alistar was the first champion I ever actually owned, and I just started playing him again.
Q-W combo op riot nerf plz
It's just so fun to knock three enemy champs into the air and then fling the carry into your team just as they land.
I've still not quite mastered the flash->headbutt, but I'm sure once I do it will be glorious.
Also, nothing is quite as hilarious as getting a kill with Trample.
Except maybe getting an accidental kill with trample because you used your heal while playing support Alistar.

...I could be completely wrong though.
Alistar is the most obnoxiously overpowered thing in the history of ever. He just walks out of your jungle, comes at you from inside your own outer turret, and headbutts you halfway across the lane. The only counter I have ever discovered to jungle Alistar is to run a even stupider jungle, like Xin Zhao, and have them just camp his buffs and kill him so he can't gank.

I just played a game, and the only thing keeping my team afloat was the fact that our Yi was a minor deity who could backdoor anything ever. The game lasted an hour, and for the most part it was pushing back and forth in mid with yi backdooring. We managed to get baron twice, one steal and one taken for ourselves, but neither time was enough for us to really win, as their Katarina was mindblowingly powerful at this point and could pretty much instagib people. Then, while Yi was backdooring, he got caught. He managed to lead the entire team into our jungle, where we had a super close-quarters teamfight and got an ace. Yi died in the fight, but thanks to him we had enough of an advantage that we could just run in and break an inhib and the mass of minions around their nexus finished the job.
The best part?
Yi was using the dunkmaster build.
...I could be completely wrong though.
The Dunkmaster Yi build guide, for those unfamiliar:
I have been seeing an alarming amount of Jungle Ezreals recently, and for some reason they all manage to get fed to hell by 20 minutes and end up carrying their teams to victory. I don't play Ez, and I don't jungle very often, so is there something inherent to Ezreal that makes him a good pubstomper in the jungle, or am I just losing my mind?

I've never even heard of jungle Ezreal. o_o
Your chumhandle is curiousCat and you are never, ever sarcastic.
Neither had I until recently, but next thing I know, they're getting double kills bottom lane, and assassinating our jungler at wolves
Why would someone even jungle Ezreal? He's got no inherent sustain, no AoEs that work against monsters, and he would probably have rather subpar ganks. The only reason I can imagine one getting fed is that people just don't know how to deal with an Ezreal arcane-shifting in from nowhere.
...I could be completely wrong though.
Jungle Ezreal is just... bad...
he has no base armor, no cc, no sustain, no AOE
you should die to wolves as him unless you're running lifesteal quints and 18 flat armor runes
Shaco is worlds better in every possible respect, including damage and chasing/initiation, so I guess people are just trolling?

It's probably a good thing I prefer jungling as Fiddlesticks, Udyr, Riven, Alistar, and Janna over considering obtainment of Ezreal for the sole purpose of trying to jungle as him.
I'm aware of why ezreal wouldn't be particularly good in the jungle outside of messing around, which is why I found it funny that I've never seen one do badly.
Probably the weirdest trolljungle I've seen, though, was a Vladimir that promptly died to blue buff.
clearly his team needed to give him a better leash.
