Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
Okay this is probably not a thing any more (hey I came here from your sig link in the Eridan thread). And I have no idea how competent I am at writing for this sort of thing. Buuut... since I have a month-long break coming up I could probably do something. Guess who. You'll never guess!
I'm not entirely sure because I want to see what the consensus is in his thread first, but I was thinking that Kan doesn't rise up except no that won't work.
Should it be before Bec Noir enters the session, or after? Do they have to kill everyone, or just everyone still alive? Does it have to be before Aradia explodes (wait DUH of course it does stupid stupid dumb).
Also gonna cast my vote for Aradia being the narrator. It would be an interesting . . .
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
It's slow moving but still a thing i think. And as far as "Does it have to be on the meteor" i believe it depends on the character. Certainly having nepeta hunt THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME sounds more appealing to me if it's on the planets.
If you are going to call me a thing that isn't "reignonyourparade" i would prefer you make it "reign"
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
I started writing the Equius thing, and I have a doomed Aradia narrating it, unfortunately forced to witness his downfall as the spirits push her ever onward to figure out how low he can sink in his depression and rage.
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
So will it be possible for Aradia to die? I mean, again? The timeline has to be reset somehow, and for the sake of consistency we might want to make sure that robo!Aradia ends up going back to the alpha.
Maybe the killer will move her dreamself off of her quest bed and kill it. Or she wakes up early and shenanigans ensue. YESSSS>
Also I don't have my heart set on Eridan! He is awesome but I'm fine with doing someone else.
I'm going to go back to contemplating "She put you in the pale zone. Put her in the dead zone." It has to be a thing.

Reason: TAGS HOW DO THEY WORK
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
1. Sollux kills everyone else.
2. They all get tigers.
3. They kill Sollux.
4. Sollux gets tiger.
5. Sollux kills them all a second time.
6. Sollux kills self.

strictly speaking, she IS "already dead"
I'm starting to keep a record of all ideas that have been discussed and also who's expressed interest in what trolls. Putting it in the OP.

Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
I'd like to have a go at writing something. My preferences would be Aradia, Nepeta
(With her verbally narrating in roleplaying/3rd person limited format while Aradia watches, I'm thinking, e.g. "The dangerous and furocious lioness stalks the silly clown as he staggers with the blood loss from his paw injury. Suddenly there is a flash of light as a purrty robot appears. The lioness recognises the robot as goat purrey, and switches targets" etc etc.)
and maybe Gamzee or Kanaya, depending on what ideas we get going, but mostly I'm open to whatever.
Just throwing ideas out;
- It'd be obvious to do Terezi from a JUST1C3!!! angle. Justice for what? Well, I don't know. That's what the writer's for.
- Aradia's (imho) should have frequent use of "it's easier to justify destruction when you know it's all meant to happen" or whatever the exact phrasing is.
- Building on that, Aradia's could be about stress relief - after a particularly bad murder spree (and/or Sollux's/Equius's), she just thinks "screw it", goes to a doomed time line and starts beating everyone up, telling them exactly what she thinks of them. Aradia talks to Aradia (?)
- Gamzee's could be what would've happened had there been less sopor slime for him - and perhaps just maybe KARKAT AIN'T BEING SUCH A GOOD MOTHERFUCKING MOIRAIL what with all his motherfucking time spent being a motherfucking leader - or similar (Other ideas include - Gamzee paints a rainbow; Gamzee wants to be a rainbow drinker; Gamzee finds out Karkat's secret (they sound like the names of kid's books XD).).
- Nepeta's could be bloodlust of some kind - you know the way they put down dogs if they bite someone because they get bloodlust? Something like that.
- I'd love one of them to be a "whoops-that-was-stupid-oh-god-I-just-impaled-someone-no-don't-tell-everyone-oh-I-guess-you-can't-cause-I-just-stabbed-you-too-etc-etc", maybe Tavros or even Eridan?
- I'd also like to see one of them where, ultimately, the character becomes this horrible, crying mess on the floor, who just wants it all to end gog dammit. I would love-love-love to see this happen with Vriska, but I doubt it'll happen.
- What about a casual discussion between Feferi and Equius about her plans for the future empire, which Equius takes completely the wrong way and ends up killing everyone except Feferi, Nepeta and that timeline's Aradia bot?
-Kind of a weak thing, but say Karkat figures out they're in a doomed timeline, figures out who screwed up, and kills them. Then goes on to kill the others for little to no reason at all. (Mayhaps alpha Aradia steps in and tells Karkat about the whole Gamzee/Eridan/Kanaya/Vriska killing spree that happened. Insta-motive.)
And for clarification -
1. Does everyone (excluding Aradia and the murderer)(???) have to die? Can Aradia arrive and prevent murders?
2. Are we going to have robo-Aradia go back to the alpha timeline eventually (not necessarily immediately)?
3. For that matter is it definitely going to be from the P.O.V. of Aradia? Which Aradia? 1st, 2nd, 3rd? Omniscient or limited? Or is it going to be up to the author?
4. Are we keeping this ship free (obviously it would be bad to turn any part of this into an ultra-shippy NO I'M GONNA SPARE YOU COZ UR MAH TRU WUV!!!! fic, but say Karkat has a rage and kills Terezi. I'd not call them canon, although there's arguably some implied stuff going on)? What about confirmed canon only? Which would be..?
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
1. everyone dies. Presumably there's also timelines where god tier karkat kills everyone except vriska, who takes him out in a final battle counting as a just death. We don't give a damn about those timelines.
2. Aradia should ALWAYS go back to prevent things. We might not SHOW her doing it but... she should at least always BE GOING to do it.
3. Right now i'm pulling for "Aradia has a little epilogue to wrap things up"
4. I don't feel particularly strongly as long as differences make sense. Heck, maybe a given pairing is the point of divergence and aradia has to go back and stop it from happening. "So... it turns out Karkat/Nepeta is a thing that's not allowed because every time it happens everyone dies."
If you are going to call me a thing that isn't "reignonyourparade" i would prefer you make it "reign"
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
Could I suggest something for Feferi that I would like to write? Inspired by Red Dead Virgo, if anyone has read it, part of the plot is her killing everyone so that they'll be safe in the arms of the horrorterrors essentially. I could totally see Feferi doing something crazy that way, also it would be nice to showcase what a badass she could have been.

Democracy, while much less free than a real communism, is decidedly harder to corrupt and so tends to come out happier in the long run.
Monarchies, however, can actually become paradises with the right king. As with communism, though, one bad king can make the citizens lives hell, and so monarchy is derided and abused. Much like dictatorships, which aren't required to be evil (suprise!), monarchies tend to get kings who are corrupt, sadistic, and/or inept, and overshadow the good, just kings who are far more capable than a democratic president of making his kingdom happy and safe.
Using these examples I deduce that while communism and monarchies are superior on paper, democracy is superior at the most important thing; making absolutely sure no-one can fuck it up without trying their balls out. However the effectiveness of a leader to change what his predescessor did is inversely related to the amount of voice the people have. A good king can clean up after his father or other such figure and be able to go forward by next tuesday. A communist leader has almost no chance of fixing anything since evil folk and idiots make up half the population. Democracy is flawed, but the others are too, and Democracy at least makes fuck-ups try to screw it up.

FTFY
Also, I thought of an idea for a doomed Tavros timeline in which Vriska never tricks him into coming to her land,
so he finishes all of the side-quests,
so he unlocks the secret of god tier,
so he, now having scaled his echeladder and gained confidence, gets Vriska, with whom he has fallen into matespriteship, to kill him on his quest bed,
but because everyone knows about god tier, when Aradia kills Vriska, she destroys the quest bed too,
so Vriska perma-dies,
so Tavros destroys Aradiabot, and Equius makes a new one, commenting to ghost Aradia at one point about how much of a disgrace Vriska was to highbloods,
so Tavros kills Equius, and he is disgusted at himself and tries to commit suicide,
but he can't because he is god tier,
so he begs Aradia to unmake the timeline,
but she says she can't, that two deaths isn't enough to doom the timeline,
so Tavros has to kill everyone to save everyone,
so, when they are the only two left, Aradia finally agrees to prevent the timeline,
so she goes back and sends a doc to Vriska about how gates work, giving her the idea to trick Tavros into coming to LOMAT.
Run-on, sentence. Run-on.

I am 0kay with that. I would also like the horror terrors to remain absolutely pants-shittingly terrifying for everyone but her. Would anyone object if I wanted to write that?

Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
i don't think due dates are a thing that is needed. If one person is done and another person is dragging on we might politely ask that person to hand over what they've written to the person who is done. Of course it would take a long time scale to get to that point, since it's not like this has been moving fast already.
Also we never decided on narration and I think if no one thinks it's an awful idea we should go with basic third person narration, with any wrapping up done from aradia's perspective, particularly repairing the timeline.
If you are going to call me a thing that isn't "reignonyourparade" i would prefer you make it "reign"
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
It may be neat to do a second person perspective to keep in theme with the rest of Homestuck narration though, but I do get that it would be hard to write. Should that be optional or go for uniformly third person?

Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
An idea:
Once we have all of the stories together, can we have them, rather than as a collection of tales, be intertwined like Homestuck is, switching from timeline to timeline? So we can be in the middle of homicidal!Karkat's timeline, and get just a snippet of Kanaya hiding behind a table from homicidal!Nepeta, with said huntress walking around the room, monologuing to hidden Kanaya, and just as she finds her, BOOM! Back to Karkat.
Another idea:
Homicidal!Nepeta's timeline occurs when Equius is distracted from their moirailegence, and we see firsthand just how important it was. What's the fundamental difference that causes this timeline then? If you remember, Aradia went missing at the beginning of the session and Equius spent most of his time with Nepeta. What if that absence was the result of time-shenanigans, and prior to them, Aradia distracted Equius from his relationship with Nepeta?
That said, I am very willing to take on, or at least help with Tavros's timeline and Nepeta's timeline.
Re: Everyone is a mass murderer: a multi-author fanfic
Just in terms of universal continuity, Are we doing all the worlds that spawned the Aradiabots? Because if so, then all of these stories would have to take place prior to the defeat of the BK, which means in the medium, the planets and Skaia, not on the meteor. And while on one hand that gives us lots more to explore, on the other I kind of like the idea of all of these mirroring Gamzee's cannon rampage. Plus it would give us less places for our murder victims to run away to. So I guess my real question is when do these stories branch off?, before or after the BK is defeated?

She can go forward and back in time, n'est pas? We don't really know what point in time the Aradiabots departed from, only that they turned up at the battle with BK. It could still be both/either.
