Yes. No fonts have perfect unicode support, so only certain characters will show up for a given font.

Hey there,
Sorry for posting about problems so often! However, my PChum has a tendency to mess up often, and this time I'm stumped. I keep getting the Pesterchum Error message, with terminate/open console as a choice. It says:
5/4/13 6:35:34.882 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501: ([0x0-0x1e81e8].skaianet.Pesterchum[3153]) Exited with code: 255
It gives me this message at least a hundred times a second. I'm running Mac OS X.

hiyah. Mac user here. Updated to 10.7 and now the pesterchum DMG isnt working. gives a "Not Found" error. does anyone know a fix?

I'm tearing my hair out in frustration. I'm not sure what to do! It was working literally a couple hours ago, and when I booted my computer back on, Pesterchum crashes from a segmentation fault (core dump) whenever I try to send a message to someone! :c

I'm running Linux Mint 14 (MATE, if that makes any difference at all), and when I boot into a live usb, it works just fine still. But if I try to launch it from my installed OS, it crashes every time I try to send a message, no matter what chumhandle I'm on, even with installing it fresh all over again with none of my profiles or logs (which I backed up and deleted from the .pesterchum directory)

This is what it says. Everything works just fine up until this point.

Is there anyone who has any idea?

EDIT:

For some reason, using a third-party system icon set caused this. I changed my desktop theme because it was starting to give me a headache on top of all this, and it started working again. I isolated it from there to my icons. Is there some way we can get it fixed so changing system icon themes don't cause hell like this?

It might just be my general lack of understanding when it comes to anything computer-related, but I can't change my handle. I open pesterchum, enter a handle, click OK -- and when it's opened, I'm back with pesterClient###. I've tried to find a solution in this thread, but none of those I found worked. Does anyone know what I should do?

Yeah, this is also happening to me. Am running Vista, and when I launch it, the loading thing shows up for a few seconds then dissapears and nothing happens.

It still works on my desktop computer, just not on this laptop. Is it just because the laptop is prehistoric, or is Pesterchum glitching?

I get the same thing here, but my computer is a fairly new desktop. The debug won't run either, and I've un- and re-installed Pesterchum.

Yeah, I've uninstalled/reinstalled at least 4 times, and it just refuses to happen.

Like, will we get to have usernames and passwords and walk around saying "Hey check this out, I've got Pesterchum on my phone!" to all of our friends? 'Cause I think that would be the GREATEST EVER! If it's impossible, please just tell me so I stop dreaming.

The Android version was being separately built and maintained, and is no longer being updated, hence the lack of seeing it in Google Play. There is currently no iOS version, although AratnitY has a guide to getting access to the servers on the iOS versions in their signature, even if it's not a dedicated Pesterchum app.

Ah, ok. Thanks. Anyway, can we get to the issue that's causing people's pesterchum to just not launch? I've got irons in the fire that need tending.

I'm not sure if it's just me being silly, or if it's a problem others have had, but...
I have one friend that I can't contact. Usually, Pesterchum works wonderfully for me, but recently I've been having the same problem. A friend of mine signed up, and we've got each other under 'chums'. She can contact me and send me messages, but whenever I attempt to contact her or respond, the client simply tells me that "(handle here)[initials] did not receive message from (my handle here)[initials] at (whatever time it is)." Then, when I go to exit out of the chat window, a new conversation pops up and says the same thing. Has anyone else experienced this?

okay i fixed it. I just needed to delete everything that even mentioned pesterchum off of my computer before reinstalling. I just ran a search on everything and found some files that i didn't see before. Though you might want to back up your stuff first.

Okay, so I just did this, and the same problem still happens. I've made sure by searching "Pesterchum" that nothing is left on, but it's still not opening, even after installing again.
