    Aww.

Anyways it sounds like what you aren't liking about her is what I would like about her. She's awesome, she knows it, and she isn't afraid to show it. Sounds like Toph.

I still flip out over Korra kicking a dude in the face.

    She kicked a dude.

    In the face.

    Yup, that's awesome.

I believe you're right on the money Octopus, though I feel "conceited" fits better. She just has this air of "I'm awesome and great" about her. Of course, I could be misinterpreting the leaks/what little knowledge we have of her. It also doesn't help that Aang was so likable.

I think the problem is that we haven't had any real exposure to Korra yet. All we know about her is deduced from leaks and the little info the creators have given us. She certainly seems awesome, but unlike Toph, we haven't had any reason to see why she's awesome (other than her being a clearly skilled Avatar).

Okay, I guess I'll concede that the kicking a dude in the face part was awesome... I guess. :P

We're still talking about a character who has not spoken a single word and has all of one and a half minutes of trailer. If you can lable her as conceited through just that, my hat's off to you, because you're psychic.

@sandman - See above. She kicked a dude. In the face. For the tiny amount of anything we have on the series, that's awesome enough, and that's on top of M & B's track record for excellent female characters.

If I can't label her conceited through the way she speaks and carries herself in the small amount of Legend of Korra we've seen, you cannot justifiably label her as "awesome" for a single face-kick.

But she hasn't spoken yet. The way she holds herself is confident, yes, but if you're talking about that bit at the end of the trailer with "The. Avatar!", I think she's more amused by his reaction. She's someone famous interacting with a fan. Or, if she's known the guy (who I belive is Bolin, so there's a chance that they're already friends) and is just now revealing herslef to be the Avatar, it's much the same. Just good fun.

I'm talking about this clip. That's a link to a DeviantArt page which has a link to the leaked clip, because I'm unsure of the rules about posting such things here and better safe than SOPA'd.

"You're getting ahead of yourself as usual, Korra-" The emphasis he puts into this sentence makes it sound as though Korra is always like this and is tired of having to deal with her child-like attitude.

She's also described as both hotheaded and rebellious, traits that are often found in someone who is arrogant.

Either way, I have to say that the fact that they're even planning to have another season excites me to no end!

I still remember when the last few episodes of Avatar came out a while ago, and feeling really sad that it was ending.
(Now if they would only do the same for FMA...)

But FMA did end... July 2010 was the last episodes of Brotherhood, the creator's already on her next series. And it was most certainly worthy of manly tears.

What infuriated me to no end about the ending of Avatar was the fact that Nickelodeon released the episodes on DVDbefore airing them on TV, not to mention that said episodes had already been aired in Mexico and Canada.

In all truthfulness, I was more sad when FMA ended than when Avatar (kind of) ended. Meh.

Did they really release the DVD before airing them? Why did I never hear about thissss

Yeah. If I recall correctly, the DVD with The Western Air Temple, the Firebending Masters And The Boiling Rock 1 & 2 came out a couple weeks before the episodes aired. When they did air it was two episodes a night for a week, finale on Friday night, replay finale on Saturday, never air any of it again. (Except on nicktoons, which shows it all the time and is awesome)

There was an eight month hiatus, for no reason, mind you, between the two halves of season three. To put this in perspective, the gap between seasons two and three was nine months, and that's just because of some extra travel and writing retreats they did.

to be perfectly honest (don't hate me) I kinda found Aang a bit of a boring protagonist. So I'm excited for Korra.

Welp guys, we finally got confirmation that, yes, Korra is coming out this year. No date though. Just a generic 2012.

They actually mentioned it in a commercial. Imagine, Nickelodeon actually recognizing that the show exists.

YES. So we finally get confirmation that it's not just some wild mass hallucination from the collective mind of Avatar lovers!

I'm wondering if there is going to be some sort of sneak peek of it at some convention somewhere. Does anyone know?

My bet is the fall, though an inner voice says summer, when I'll be off gallavanting and won't be able to see it.

Oh please let it not be fall. School takes up enough time as it is... I probably will not have any time to watch it if it comes out in the fall. DX

Bluh, I kind of like what they did with Metalbending.

In the Last Airbender, Toph was exclusively the only Metalbender to exist.

By Legend of Korra, she had started her own school and had taught Metalbending to people who aren't her. It's not so much common as "Exclusive art for badasses", Hence the Metalbending Cops.

    Ooo! This thread exists!

I've been super excited about Korra since I was a huge fan of the original series. Got into it for the combat, art style and the bending. Stayed for the story and characters.

I was originally iffy about Korra as a protagonist at first, but hearing her voice and seeing the clips about the interwebs have definitely changed my mind

PS - Thanks for the link Sandman, there was some clips I hadn't seen yet in there.
