Old thread was too long! Yes I'm some noob starting a new thread guys. :<

Congrats to those of you getting accepted at colleges! It seems there's a specific thread for such excitement now too.

Anyway last final for me tomorrow and then I actually get to go home which is an exciting prospect.

Was up until 7 am today working on my essay blarg... I'm glad that's over.

I needed two more points to get a B- in my Psych course. Anywhere. At all.

Prof's made it clear grades are entirely non-negotiable, too. Fuck you, dude.

Things like that are annoying, to understate things a lot.

My other psych final went slightly worse than my other exams, but no big deal there really even though there probably should be but I haven't calculated anything yet. (EDIT: I need a 64% or less to get anything below a B there. Pretty sure I didn't do THAT badly)

I'll complain more later when I get my actual grades in.

Hello new school thred [sic]! Just submitted my log and report for my final electronics lab, so... 4/7 classes finished for this term; ~57% towards "going the fuck home for a couple of weeks".

I was feeling like crap over my english final. Then I did the math and realized that any grade higher than a D- will get me an "A" in the class thanks to the magic of weighting.

Tomorrow, I've got the chem final; friday, EHAP and then I'm done entirely!

Well, except for CPS over the weekend. But I haven't even read all of the topic lit for that, and I'm not expecting to do very well there anyway, so it's not too big.

Wow teachers are dicks. I'm on winter break now yeah!

Now the waiting for final semester grades begins... I'm expecting basically all B's. Pretty meh but whatever.

Surprised I did better on my programming final than I thought. Ended up with a B in the class though which feels kind of lame. I mean a B in a 101 gen ed class as a junior? Kind of crappy. But the difficulty curve on that class was pretty ridiculous, so I guess I'll just suck it up. It's not like I'll ever have to program again anyway...

First quarter ever in uni, I slept twenty minutes out of my two-hour physics final and got an A in the class.

Apparently, today/yesterday they held a raffle through all the students and I was one of five to win.
13 lb. turkey, giant sack of potatoes, several cans of vegetables, couple boxes of stuffing, couple boxes of candy canes, and a giant chocolate Santa.

Oh, don't forget the $60 worth of Target gift cards.

Tomorrow, I have a bio lab due (well, technically tonight, since it's submitted via web), a bio test, a math quiz (I need to do well since my teacher hates me and I bombed the last one due to forgetting a few negative signs and one bad substitution), and chem questions to do. Yet what am I doing? Posting on a web forum about comics and how things smell funny.

On the plus side, I pwn'd in my science olympiad competition today. I was thrown into an anatomy and physiology event, and pulled my group into second (we lost by 3 points) and actually really helped out the captain of the knowledge team, who had been studying for this event for months now. Shame I'm not considering going premed.

So far, the only person I know who's gotten into Brown (or any Ivy for that matter, other than a few people on here) is a billionaire's daughter. I seriously don't believe that they give admission to the highest-qualified students, racial quotas aside.

Many of my friends, being Houstonian, got into Rice tonight. My grade level also has one Indian boy go to West Point and a Korean girl get accepted into Georgetown, but I'm the only confirmed academic Ivytiercollegegoer so far (all Stanford EAers rejected, all Brown EDers deferred, haven't heard anything from the Yale, Harvard and Princeton applicants). Everything is a crapshoot, and I assume it's tougher for you all since you live in the Northeast/West.

That said, good job, Moondelev! I withdrew from Harvard but I honestly could only see myself getting a rejection there O.O

Nobody in my town who applied to an Ivy early got in. Wow.

I say "in my town" to cover not only the school I go to, but also the valedictorian of the local extremely expensive private school.

He's posted a couple of rants on his Facebook about how he hates everything about college. I'm not sure if I should pity him for that or laugh at his first world problems.

Considering that Harvard deferred 67% of its early applicants, I'm taking what I can get here. Is it pretty unlikely that I'll get in now? Absolutely. But hey, I'll live.
