So, the race that me and Bluesunnyday came up with is called the Mechidukos. Here is some basic info on them that we (mostly Blue) have come up with:

The race is known as the Mechiducos race, and their organic form is not much more than a thin-skinned tentacled blob with two diversely colored eyes. They can create some poisonous gas to defend themselves, but to survive properly, they must go in Mechanical Support Suits, or simply Suits, which are robotic or mechanical shells.

Suits are created based on the amount of gas produced by the Mechiducos. Royals produce the most gas, and have Suits created from nano technology. The Mechiducos that produce the least gas have to settle for base robotics. The suits are custom made for the occupation of the wearer.

While no one has actually no gas, the symbol of clockworks are used as a counter-culture symbol, especially for those at low levels of gas, or those disillusioned by the Royalty.

The royalty technically control and monitor the chat client, Suit Spectator, but they are actually run and monitored by plastics, generally.

The planet they live on has been heavily industrialized. The wildlife is highly dangerous, and the species actually has a self defense method left-over from before they developed the suits. They can release clouds of poison gas. But that became obsolete when the suits were created. There is only one animal used for sustenance, known as a "Slime". Despite it's name, it actually has a solid body, but it's hidden under layers of nutritious-but-awful-tasting slime. The body itself is a highly sought-after delicacy, due to it's small size and general difficulty to harvest properly.

Children are sent to training academies as opposed to staying with their parents. These academies are all held on the moon of their planet, Docaku, where all young Mechiduci live until they are old enough to take on an occupation.

Romance is very similar to human romance. When relationships are cemented, one eye changes to the color of the other Machiduco's eye.

Royals sometimes own Slimes as pets.

Suits have windows that the Machiduco can see through.

Their variety of SBURB is SGLOB.

When Mechiduci sleep, they form large groups, in order to create a large protective cloud of gas.

Their name starts with a title, and then has two five letter names.

The orbit of their planet is twice that of earth, so a cycle is about two years. They reach maturity and leave the moon at eight cycles.

Text colour is the opposite of eye colour.

Alright, their session has 14 players, which includes the primary, secondary, and tertiary colours, as well as black and white. The players are 7.5 cycles old, approximately, though that can be discussed. Fell free to claim colours and make characters!

I also left out one thing. Most of the suits are custom-made based on the needs and jobs of the person inside. A soldier won't have the same Suit as a farmer.

One thing I'm wondering is: What's their culture like? Are they a warlike species like trolls? Or are they more scholarly?

Well, Blue probably knows better than I do, but the impression I've gotten is that they have somewhat similar values to humanity, but far less environmental, and less spiritual.

That's correct. They're not very spiritual. The closest thing they have to a "god" is the royals, which they believe are fundamentally "better" than everyone else. But they aren't believed to have special powers or whatever. They also don't care much for the environment, due to the fact that most EVERYTHING tried to kill them until they developed the Suits. The Mechiducos figure their rampant industrialization is just their own special way of returning the favor. They're not very warlike, but they have a military on hand in case they get attacked by anything particularly nasty, be it rebels or an entire different species.

I'd like to join this, seems interesting. Also, could I reserve the eye color orange? I will begin working on a character immediately. Also, will they have some form of chat client like PesterChum? Will we need tags for them and the PesterChum client, if so?

I imagine they'll use something of the sort, but I don't know if you'll need the client.
All I know about their text chatting is that only low-class Suits need external computers, and that text colour is the inverse of eye colour.
