*Serious business hair elastics- increased flexibility, at least until they snap, which should be any day now.
*Baggy, baggy, baggy t-shirt- torsoparachute! Takes very little damage when falling from high ground.
*Patched, crummy jeans- really comfy. Can regain a little health if given the opportunity to sit down for over five minutes.

Background: Tired and young, Cornelia is currently working an internship with a friend and New York technical producer while on vacation from her normal obligations as a techie and student back in the mid-West. She's been doing this for years, and in the past few has grown a little distant from the people she knows, becoming selectively social. Constantly beats herself up about not going back into music or aspiring to a medical profession or something in high school, but generally has a pretty "dontgivvafuck" attitude about responsibilities outside of what she thinks needs done otherwise. Can't stand being the center of attention after hiding backstage all of her life.

Well, Saturdays are good for coins, right? I head down to the mall, rocking out a Weezer shirt, making me look like this old-school chick. I think. I've put on this nice cardboard sign over me. I take one last look at my visage in the full length mirror as a stretch out the last of the morning kinks. A shorter skirt? The thought is there and discarded in a moment; today will at least start out as another quiet day reading on the beach, taking in the pleasant sounds of the ocean, the people who came to play, and the warm sunlight.

What? This isn't my room. The whole place is a dull brown, the only visible exit is blocked, and there are other people I've never seen. From what I can hear through my stupor, they don't know what's happening either. It's as reassuring as it is worrying, no it's more worrying not knowing what's going to happen...

I throw my hood back only to see a dark cave and several other people, confused I turn around and find my green front door gone.
