TiredStuck: An Insomniac adventure - >Begin hiatusing. Again. ._.

    Sleep.

To this day it still can’t be agreed on what its exact function and purpose is.

It’s a non-essential process yet we’ve never evolved to be without it.

Be deprived of it long enough and your body will eventually force the brain into the patterns of sleep on their own.

It is practiced by every animal without exception despite how detrimental it can be to their survival.

It remains one of life’s great mysteries.

    You are now this guy.
You are standing in your room at about 3:27 AM having spent the last three hours finishing an essay for school tomorrow.
You are currently VERY, VERY tired.
So tired in fact that you can’t even remember your own name right now. What was it again?

Hey! Your not a zombie. that- thats just the way your symbolicly rendered!
    Yeah...
At least thats what your mother tells you...
    >bg4i77bhhh

That... might be your name? You hope not.
You always remebered it being more - word like.
    > Orwell Daniels

That sounds right! Or maybe not. Your brain has long since entered screensaver mode and you can't find it in you to disagree anymore

    Your name is Orwell

Like prevouisly mentioned you have finished, re-read and spellchecked an essay. All you need to do now is hit the print button and your all done for the night. To be honest, you don't want to think about how your going to get through tommorow school day, but such thoughts you can blissfully ignore due to the large amount of brainspace that wants to SLEEP.

Oh god the bed... It's calling.

    NO! Have to stay strong.

Just need to finish this and then it's off to the land of Nod for you. Oh yeeahh..

Make sure the printer is ACTUALLY TURNED ON before you print. Check ink levels.

    Fall asleep at keyboard

You nod off for a few seconds in the comforting caress of the angular keys. A beautiful stream of nonsense fills the screen. You start to drift off...

    Slap self twice.

No! Bad, Orwell! You manage to shake yourself out of the nap just in time. Phew, that was a close one.

    Cntl-S followed by F18

You dutifully save your work and then put it under a different name. The just to make sure, you zap a copy onto your pen drive attached to your keys. Never can be to careful!

You fondly regard your essay. Man this thing took a long time.
This could essay have probably been done a lot faster if you had stopped clicking to other websites every five minutes. It possibly isn't quite your best work considering you crammed two weeks’ worth of research into three hours, but what the heck, beggars can't be choosers

    Ctrl-P
You hit the print button with gusto!

There it should be printing now. you will just have to go down to the family printer in the living room to collect it, since your unlikely to be in any state to do it yourself tomorrow.

Woe betide you wake up any fellow family member though! They will have your head if you disturb them.

For convenience you imagine a map of your house in your mind

    What will you do next?

Re: TiredStuck - An Insomniac adventure

You exit your room and enter the landing.

The sound of loud snoring is resonating from your mother’s room, even loud enough to overpower the loud clunks of the printer downstairs.

    >Walk to top of stairs, and slide down banister.

Man you’d love to do that! But there’s always a chance you might fall and break your neck, or worse - wake your mother or sister!

    Hang on...

You just remembered that your sister isn't currently in her room; she's out at a party somewhere.

Still the possibility of your mother being woken is enough to defer you from any potential loud noises.

    >go to printer
You’re going to get on that.
    Just...
    Wait a second.

Has your shirt been changing lengths of its sleeves this entire time?

    That’s kind of weird.
You peg it down to sleep deprivation and prepare to head down the stairs. But first...

    SHEEEEEEEEEEEETS.

    SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETS.

    SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

Oh god you soooooo need to go to bed.

    > Now that you're in the sheets, slide down the balustrade. Not the banisters; those are too short and vertical to be any fun. But the sheets'll provide sound protection-- I totally know that because.
