tried that. in order to fix it, the internet connection has to be "traditional," meaning you just choose the network, enter a password and all is done. starbucks requires you to redirect to their terms an conditions page in order to access the internet in any other manner

You could probably wander down a random suburb and mooch off somebody's unencrypted connection. There are a crapton of people who have no idea how to set a password on their wifi.
