the levelling up system could just be slow by nature. the first Paper Mario had a pretty low cap at 20something, iirc.

Ahah no it's actually just been AGES since I played an oldschool type RPG. They're coming up to their first miniboss here in the throneroom, I'd originally had them at level 13 but changed it at the last minute for some reason. I need to go back and replace the text boxes with the new chunky pixel ones so I'll probably retcon that. Is 13 reasonable or should I bump it a bit more?

Awww, thanks Djinn you're a sweetie UuU. I am trying to cut down on the extraneous animation for this adventure since that tends to add a ton of work time onto Airlocked updates, but mainly I decided against it for stylistic consistency. Since the art for CF doesn't use the hard-edged lines most forum adventures do it becomes a lot harder to animate things unless I plan ahead and use a super limited pallet or else they get that chunky banded effect instead of a smooth gradation
