Thread: I write blog articles about webcomics

Re: I write blog articles about webcomics

I like the articles! Very nice. And it's so great that you're doing this for a print comic shop, trying to get webcomics involved and recognized.

If you want a recommendation for a single review, you should definitely check out Cucumber Quest (http://cucumber.gigidigi.com/archive/page-188/). It's been making HUGE waves in the webcomic community, it's very funny, and the art is beautiful. I think it'd be interesting to note how the art quality accomplished by a single person like this can rival that of big Marvel/DC teams simply because of a different style.

If you want a good Two To Review: you should compare Paranatural (http://paranatural.net/) to Vibe (http://www.vibecomic.com/). They share a similar concept of being comedy-action series about a young boy gaining powers to fight spirit monsters with, but they handle it in very different ways. They're also both very very enjoyable.

Article the fifteenth is not really about webcomics, more about web-animations. Still good though!

Nice work. It's funny, for me all of the things he said are perfectly normal and accepted and I'm like "yep yep yep yep", but that's mostly because I'm immersed in the webcomic culture as it is. For people who have never read a webcomic, some of those answers (ie. re: money) would have seemed utterly bizarre.

This is pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing it! Would you mind if I referenced some of this for a workshop on webcomics we're running later this year? Cited/referenced of course.

That would be fine! Umm, you may need to ask permission from Ryan North? He'd probably be fine with it though?

My addenda will contain links directly to the relevant sites/articles so it will be very clear where all the info comes from, no worries.
Thank you! And keep up the good work!
