Doesn't Tekkit require a client mod? I will pretty much never do that.
You download a launcher and then it autoinstalls everything. Understandable though.
Wow, my essay got pagebottomed.
Now, to make this a totally not useless post, I will explain tekkit. Tekkit runs off a launcher based on spout, and creates a new minecraft folder by a different so you can still run vanilla on its own.
DON'T LET THE CHARITY HIT 75K!

I really like Tekkit myself exactly for the reason Wacom dislikes it; you don't just make a computer or mining turtle out of some stone, glass and a single piece of redstone such as in computercraft (which is the exception to the rule in Tekkit), but you have to make a lot of more complex items first in order to make complex and powerful items. In reality all of the resources are easy to accquire and as time passes by and you get access to more advanced items it gets easier to farm those. In return, you need more of those resources to make stuff to make for a nice progression curve.
Also, if you have EE getting the proper items is far easier because you can just transmute more once you have a single one. But I do think that EE (Equivalent Exchange) should be disabled since it completely overrides the normal progression curve of all the other mods because of the immense amounts you can get any item at all in.
In other words I think that Tekkit would be nice to do some time, but it needs to be setup correctly since grief-fests will otherwise commence.
I'm just saying it would slow down the mind-blowing productivity rate that is the Minecrafters of the MSPAF working together. However, after you brought it up, it sounds like it could actually be a whole lot of fun.
That is, if we could get everyone onto tekkit.
Speaking of which...
My username is TrenLau. Would someone mind whitelisting me?
Hopefully not entirely desert. Maybe some small forest or jungle biome oasesesssessasses?
I kind of like the idea that I'll have to go digging to get dirt to grow stuff. And having shitloads of sand to make all the things out of glass.
Guys we HAVE to work TOGETHER.
I've been spoiled by the teamwork in the previous map.
You should get the found diamonds plugin, it will alert people when someone strikes gold.
I will look into it, pretty easy to do. I might even be able to make cool natuarally occuring sandstone arches and rock formations. Also rarely some plateaus will have a valley of Mushroom Biome hidden within. And of course resources will be scarce except in randomly assigned areas.
Please come up with more cool desert ideas!
Abandoned mining towns
Maybe over resource-rich areas depending on how common they are
Little shacks that lead down to abandoned mineshafts.
edit: I just thought of a problem. Biomes are visible in f3. If I use biomes to hide the "gold", people will automatically be able to use f3 to find riches.
It lists custom biomes as plains I think
If so you can just replace the deserts with plains and copy the desert file over the plains one
