Because I apparently still don't have enough to do, and I remembered an old idea that I really liked, here's another text adventure.
You wake up and you're sure that you're somewhere you've never been before. You don't know how you're sure, considering you haven't even opened your eyes, but you are. You open your eyes to a blurry white mass. Wait, is that your hair? You're sure it was never this long...or white. Just how long were you out? And more importantly, why did someone dye your hair white, of all colors?
You brush the hair out of your eyes, sit up, and look around. Yep, nothing you recognize whatsoever. You're in a bed, with a few blankets draped over you. Whoever put you there was going for warmth, and lots of it. You'd ponder the implications of that, but you're not sure you want to know.
You get to know anyways when you start to get up and feel a painful twinge in your leg. You lie down again, sighing. You've got no idea how you got here. Hell, you barely even remember who you are! What's your name again?

Oh yeah, that's it. Luna Newberry. This feels like an accomplishment, and with that you decide to see what else you can remember.
...
Hm. You remember a bit of what you assume are the last few weeks before whatever happened, and then a bang. Probably a gunshot, but you might not be the best judge. Does this mean you got shot? Is that why you're here? You try to figure this out, but it's not exactly easy considering you know next to nothing.
You're interrupted by the sound of a door opening. You sit up quickly, and a shortish woman walks in and nods at you.
"Good, you're awake. Don't have much longer, so I'm going to have to give you a crash course. I'll get to the proper introduction later. I'm Jeyne. Your name is...?"
"Luna."
"Okay, so Luna, you've died. Gunshot wound, I'm guessing." She talks over your protests. "Some people, when they die, go here. It's sort of a parallel dimension. Same location, same layout more or less, different people and things. You're one of the lucky few." She chuckles without a hint of humor. "You get a few special abilities when you get here. Easy way to tell is by hair and eye color. Red hair is energy manipulation, black hair is teleportation, white hair-" she nods in your direction, "-amplifies your other ability. The one identified through the eyes is usually less powerful. I've got green eyes, so I can resist other people's powers. You..." She walks a bit closer and stares you straight in the eye for a second. "Brown, speed. You can move a lot faster than pretty much anyone else now."
Someone knocks the door once, then twice. Jeyne glances over, but doesn't stop talking. "There's a city suspended up above this one, called Kyria. It's the home of the Numbers, who make themselves out to be all that's standing between the world and destruction. They try to recruit newbies like yourself, but they abandon those of us with what are deemed as useless primary powers."
The knocking comes again, more insistent this time. Jeyne sighs and walks quickly over to the door, opening it a crack and looking out. "What do you-"
The door flies open and what looks like a hovering sphere of molten metal enters. Jeyne raises an eyebrow, but stands aside.
The sphere begins moving straight for you.

Too surprised to react, you sit there and stare at the sphere like an idiot. Had you the presence of mind, you might figure that if Jeyne didn't do anything about it, it must not be a bad thing. The sphere forms into four disks, which bisect themselves. Two halves clamp around each of your wrists and ankles, and the metal shifts. When you don't feel any more movement, you lift an arm. You now have an inch-wide silver bracelet clamped around your hand. There's no seam, and it's nearly flush against your skin, so there's no way to take it off. You check your other wrist and ankles, and the same thing's present there.
Jeyne raises an eyebrow and resumes talking. "That's a Prong. Don't know why it's called that, and I don't care. Prongs give you another skill, usually very minor. It's impossible to tell what they do until it actually does it. Hopefully it won't be something stupid."
You stare at the Prong and wonder just what it's going to do.
There's a...sound...coming from outside. You can't really think of any way to describe it, but it puts you on edge. Jeyne looks back at the door.
"Shit, not much time. We're going to have to run for it."
I screwed up on the last update, listing red hair as matter manipulation. I intended it to be energy manipulation, so I went back and edited the post. Just letting you know here so you don't miss it and get confused in the future.

Reason: STEALTH EDIT.
You start to say something, but Jeyne grabs your hand and pulls you out the back door.

Gah, fuck my laziness.
Anyway, if this were a video game, this would be a tense chase sequence where you have to figure out where to go to escape what's chasing you. These will be signified by the [RUN FOR YOUR LIFE]. Luckily, this time, you have a guide who knows the area. So here's what's going to happen. I'll take the first suggestion and update with it, and do this three times. This time, there's no chance of failure, thanks to having Jeyne around, but in the future, there will be a chance you will get caught. What'll happen then? That's for me to know and you to find out.
You just kind of stand there like an idiot until Jeyne leads you off by the hand muttering something about idiot newbies.
Gee, thanks for all the support, guys.
[/sarcasm]
Anyway, I'm going to say that if I don't get any suggestions two updates in a row, I'll just bring this to a natural conclusion due to apparent lack of interest. This applies at any time.
>Take stock of the area and run in whichever path seems to be in the exact opposite direction of where you came from.
Jeyne leads you away from the building, into an alley. When you look back, the building is still visible. There's a black smudge on the wall. You keep looking, nearly tripping a few times, and the smudge grows. You're not exactly sure what it is, as Jeyne drags you around a corner before anything significant comes into view. You look the way Jeyne is running, and speed up a bit. You find yourself starting to overtake her, so you slow down and match her speed. She lets go of your arm and starts to run faster. You continue to match her speed, a bit surprised at how easy this is for you. Then again, Jeyne did say you could run really damn fast if you wanted to.
You make a few more turns, trying to keep track, but eventually you become completely and utterly lost. You don't think you could find your way back even if you had a map. Eventually, you come across a chain-link fence blocking your way. It's been a while since your last turnoff, and you can see a bit of darkness creeping around the corner back there. What now?
You're fairly sure that the darkness is what Jeyne's running from, so you sure as hell don't want to go back the way you came. You hear metal jangling and look back over to see that she's already climbed the fence and is on the other side.
"What are you waiting for? You don't want to get caught, trust me."
You look up at the top of the fence. All of a sudden seven feet looks a lot higher. You take a deep breath, chancing a glance over your shoulder. The darkness has spread a few feet past the corner, and you can see the edge of a figure starting to round the bend. You back up a few steps, and run at the fence.
You jump up at it, grabbing the top and pulling yourself over in one fluid motion, landing heavily on your feet next to Jeyne.
She raises an eyebrow. "Well. You got lucky." She nods at your hands and runs off.
You look down to see a coating of metal retract from your hands into the bracelets. Look like you've discovered your Prong's power already...somewhat. You follow after Jeyne, catching up quickly. A few more turns, and you've lost her. Looking back, you see an open door, with Jeyne leaning out, beckoning you in. Funny. You could have sworn that wasn't there before...No matter. You go in the door, and Jeyne closes it behind you.
[YOU'RE SAFE...FOR NOW]
And thus marks the end of the first of (hopefully) many chase sequences. I'm enjoying this so far. Are you?
They're nice, but you should make sure to provide details so that we know what actions we can pursue
You'd do that, but you don't really know what they do. Maybe something to do with climbing? Besides, you don't really think now is the time.

"Don't go in that door." Jeyne hooks a thumb at the door opposite you.
Jeyne starts to enter the room you aren't supposed to go into, so you figure now would be a good time to ask.
"What exactly were we running from?"
She pauses for a second, looking back at you.
"The Dirae have an...aggressive...recruiting policy."
With that, she fully enters and closes the door behind her. You sit down in a chair, questions running through your head. Not much you can do about them until Jeyne comes back out, though. So what will you do until then?
Dammit, sorry this took so long. I was being lazy again.
