    GUSHIN 'BOUT HOMESTUCK

We all know that complaining about Homestuck is verboten, and so is gushing about them. Yet this is the Complainin''s sparkly sweet twin. So no restraints! Steamroll us with your positive thoughts!

Anything will do, whether you think it's merely decent enough to like, to being the most amazing thing ever.

Andrew Hussie's pixelart is great to look at.

This fandom, despite some shady corners (looking at you, tumblr), is the best thing. the best. fucking. thing.

It enhances the comic so much, and I love it for it.

Honestly there is so little about Homestuck I don't like that this is easily my favorite story.

I'm continuously amazed at the depth of the story, or the different ways that characters can be read just from what was written about them in canon.

Plus, the fandom has exposed me to many new artists and all these new styles have been inspiring me like woah. I ended up feeling a little dissatisfied with my own work, but I don't really see it as a bad thing... I see it as a time for new changes and learning.

The fandom IS half the comic... reading through MSPAF, HSG, tumblr and DA while waiting for updates is like an entire story in itself

I like how the whole thing has gone into new game plus

Homestuck has helped me quite a bit with data structures. Thank goodness for the compsci references.
Other than that, Homestuck's plot is so tangled that you can't help but love it!
Your name is ILIKEOCTOPUS, but you are usually called OCTI for short. Your hobbies include PLAYING THE VIOLIN, READING, and GETTING DISTRACTED, though you sometimes try not to do that last one. Your chumhandle is cascadeViolinist and you tend to use contractions only when you are very excited and trail off in the middle and end of sentences... but you often attempt to avoid that.

Homestuck gives me so many feelings.
    Also, it's for free!

But seriously, one of the many things I like about Homestuck, Andrew has already explained: he makes these patterns and they are so much fun to play with.

Homestuck makes everything tingle with creativity.

Oh and I love how positive Andrew has stayed through all this. He is such an inspiration.

Oh OH and his and the fandom's humor is wonderful.

    And also yes this fandom!!!!!

I'm surprised somebody finally said that! But it really is great, and honestly, almost all fandoms have dark parts.

    Re: GUSHIN 'BOUT HOMESTUCK

    Is this thread really necessary?

Whatever, don't want to be a party pooper.

Homestuck has the best and most interesting characters I've seen in a long time. In addition, I really like the way female characters are treated (in-comic, if not by the fandom), in that they're basically treated like just plain old characters, which sounds obvious but is something I rarely see in any media. Hilariously, I see that most often in anime, which is not even close to being free of sexism and in fact is a product of a society 30 years behind in the women's rights movement.

    Re: GUSHIN 'BOUT HOMESTUCK

Oh god, I could write paragraphs and paragraphs about why I like Homestuck.

The main thing that I like about Homestuck is that it's so different from normal web-comics. I mean, it juggles dozens of characters and constantly introduces new characters, and each one of them is a believable character. I also like how different they are, both in race and personality. I, personally, understand of every character why they're the way they are and agree with that. Most people have at least one character they couldn't care less about, but I really don't.

The flashes are what makes Homestuck so special too, I can't see any other webcomic artist doing them, and certainly not so fast as Andrew.

I love the fandom so much, most of it is so nice and funny!

And...and...I should stop here or otherwise I'll never quit writing. :P

Conclusion: I think Homestuck is the best thing the world has ever seen. Except for sliced bread

Man, it took 15 whole posts for a smartass to appear? This is pretty woeful. You guys need to down to 5 posts, at least. How can you expect to compete with other forums?

Did you have to quote him, spork? His being on my ignore list doesn't work if you quote him.

I'd like to add Jane, Jake, Dirk, Roxy, and every homosexual/bisexual shenanigan to my list of things to love about Homestuck. Also its pacing.

Are you talking about yourself, as the 15th reply?

Because I was being quite sincere, so, I don't get it.

Love the story. That's really all there is for me to say on that.

Oh, and this is a pretty good fandom. Sure I may find some creepy fan art from time to time(Though you find these in every fandom), but they make nice fan videos to compensate so its all good.

    Re: GUSHIN 'BOUT HOMESTUCK

This is definitely a thread that has needed to exist for a long time now since we've had the complaining about Homestuck thread.

Homestuck is just...so great...but if I had to highlight a few of my favorite parts of homestuck, the first one would be the humor.

I basically found none of the humor funny on my first read, but I have immensely warmed up to it. I like to think of it like how Rose comments on Doc Scratch's jokes. That's how I feel about the humor. Then the all of the colorful characters. I mean, they are so diverse. Also, I really like how Hussie manages to introduce characters as a major plot point and still keep the the story fresh and not weigh it down with all of the new characters. Another thing: the music. It inspired me to take up music composition and is just really great music in general. One last thing would be the mythology. It's just so original and cliched off of a bad video game at the same time. I marvel at the fantastical world Hussie has created and wonder how he keeps each new session interesting when they are pretty much the exact same iteration of the incipisphere each time.

I'm all over Act 6 so far. I'm not recalling bad memories or characters I dislike, as all the kids are mostly likable (even if I'm still biased against all Striders.) Yeah, some developments are a bit odd, but not in a way that makes me not want to see where it's going.

Also there's hints of Vriska in it, and until that's destroyed in a way that turns her impact into a slap in the face, that's a good thing.

Fresh start, good characters, no bad memories and a reason to be optimistic about the future. I like this act tons right now.
