Okay, here's one I couldn't figure out. I've recently made a quirk out of color-coding certain words/symbols/whatever. I have one set up where '<3' becomes '<3'. However, I wanted to make it so '<3<' becomes '<3<', but the two quirks work against each other, turning '<3<' into '<3</c><'. A little help, please?

Replace: <3
With: <c=255,0,0><3</c>

Replace: <c=255,0,0><3</c><
With: <c=0,0,0><3<</c>

havent tested it, but try
replace
(\w{2})(\w)
with
\1toupper(\2)

If I take "to" out it works perfectly. Thanks a bunch.

Regexp: ([a-zA-Z]{2})([a-zA-Z]{2})
Replace: upper(\1)lower(\2)

For the record, I had to use the cheat sheet and modify Gamzee's quirk a little. If you encounter any problems, let me know and I'll try to fix it.

I was just thinking about this earlier and wondered if it was a possible thing. Can you have a sentence ending in "?" changed to be "¿Like this?" ? I don't necessarily want to use it, but now I'm curious.

yes.
if you just want to check if the message ends with ? and if so add an ¿ to the beginning just use
regex replace
^(.*)\?$
¿\1?

if you want to do it for each sentence that is a little bit, but not much, more complicated.
([^?\.\!]+)\?
¿\1?

works, but includes the spaces between sentences.
I can fix that part if necessary.

it burns ones eyes.

Yeah, that's due to the character limit. If anyone is good with python and understands pesterchum (I know a thing or two about python, but not enough about how it needs to be formatted by Pesterchum) then they could solve that issue.

REGEXP: "\b(\w)"
REPLACE WITH: "upper(\1)"

REGEXP: "[\.!?:;,"']"
REPLACE WITH: ""

you need a space before the upper(\1)
because otherwise it will replace the space too.
alternatively you can use a look-behind.
like
(?<=\b)(\w)
upper(\1)

Been using this section of the forum as a guide for my experiences with Quirks. I have gotten Gradients to work well, been playing with that for a while now with the Regexp. However, I have run into a snag.
How would I go about applying a gradient to a specific phrase or string?

Currently, I am using the Gradient Code from this thread for my normal speech, and I would hope to do a simple replace with "Telos Thanatosis" and make it a different gradient than my normal color scheme.

Example: normal is Red to Black with 7 hex codes, Telos Thanatosis should go from Silver to Black to Silver in 7 hex codes, and change back to the normal color scheme if I continue the message.

Ideas? Thoughts?

As far as I know, it can only save one gradient at a time. I'm not an expert, though.

I was wondering if I could have a little suggestion with a quirk

My quirk that I need help on goes like this:
~you lik£ to show your j£llydish £nthusiasm in your s£ntin€es~
having the £ and € symbols to represent jellyfish. But after some role playing, I found that some people find the quirk hard to read and don't get the meaning of the symbols.

Should I change the symbols into something else, and if so, what would you suggest?

Personally, I suggest shifting it so that the Es become € and the Ls become £. Will look into alternate symbols in a moment, though.

I mean you can have multiple gradient functions that can be called saved to one pesterchum client.

What I'm saying is if you were to do

^(.*)$ replace: gradient1(/1)

then

(keyword) replace: gradient2(/1)

It's possible that gradient 1 would interfere with gradient 2.

Example.

Gradient 1: 7 colors. (0-6)
Gradient 2: 4 colors. (7-A)

This is a test message that includes the keyword.

After quirk 1, it becomes

[6]This is [5]a test m[4]essage [3]that in[2]cludes [1]the key[0]word.

After quirk 2, it becomes

[6]This is [5]a test m[4]essage [3]that in[2]cludes [1]the key[0]word.

Because "keyword" no longer exists. It's now key<c=xxxxxx>word.

And if you were to do gradient 2 first, gradient 2 could screw it up by putting a color code within a color code.


I'm not sure what would happen them. I'm currently without a pesterchum client.
