Now I have to wonder...if Hussie is cosplaying an androgynous character is he like wearing, you know, on his Lips?

My instinct is to use names constantly, since I don't want to have to worryy about gende. Generally I just assume that the gender of your avatar matches the gender of your person, where inanimate objects are to my mind male for some reason. (Yes, I know this is a horribly inaccurate system.)
And how relevant is it anyway? Here, I mean. It doesn't seem to have any correlation to theories or attitudes or anything like that.
On the other hand, damn semantics are fun.
I am pretty sure the problem we are combatting is the fact that sorcerer is neutral AND masculine.

barely relevant at all, words are just fun
yeah, English! it makes no sense!
that is the problem, as far as it correlates to the "man" being both neutral and masculine (thus why my solution is to create new male words instead of new neutral words)
I guess adding "er" to then end doesn't working for male/neutral words that are already structured like that :/
it works for actorer though.
words that don't have a female variation in common use (baker, singer - I've never heard anyone say bakeress or singeress) probably don't need a male variation.
actor/actress/actorer is different though since gender is pretty much inescapable in such a profession, and actress is in common use

All the Dave up in this shit, all of it.
Well, the most clearly visible thing in your avatar right now is Jane's face. So I'd go with female.
But then your username is Daniel, which is as far as I know a specifically male name.
So as I said, the system barely ever works. But I'm lazy so I just try not to think about it too much.
e:Yep. I...I am not too bright. Not to mention how many males use Vriska in their avatar. Really I am just horribly bad with gender-guessin'. Luckily it's not something that is ever a vital piece of information. Oh, sometimes I can remember when some one has been confirmed as either gender.Originally Posted by stormspirit

On the topic of gender, and creating a masculine term and violently castrating neutering man/male:
so an Old English version of "husband and wife" was "wer ond wif"
wif became wife, and wer was replaced with husband.
People like to chuckle at the term "animal husbandry," but the truth of the term is that husband is a synonym for steward or caretaker, derived from terms that could loosely be translated as "home-owner."
The term female was not originally intended to parallel "male," though derived from feminine where male was derived from masculine, the two shortened terms were sort of pounded at until they looked similar.
The terms are largely french anyway, let's just stop using them.
Wure, or Urman would work... Ur generally means "first," or "primitive," it's a term that can be celebrated or denigrated.
@ Glithe, I found that post very interesting
(I don't know what else to say because I have no response to it, just wanted to express that it was interesting)
(my username and avatar are all kinds of neutral)

Names. I can hardly remember them even in the cases when I care enough to try. I generally just use gesture or directing statements at people to indicate them. Helps cover up me forgetting/misattributing names on a regular basis.
So clear, someone whose second language is English would have no trouble interpreting it.

I'm bad at names. I've sat through an entire movie and when it was over realized I had no clue what the main characters name was
