You would, but you are not allowed to leave your post until your shift is up. You instead mentally file through the trees to pick the best one to cut down when you leave. It does not occur to you that this does not make you an appealing character.

Captain Strong was a nickname you had back at the first post you worked at. When you first met your beloved companion, you thought it was a nice name to give him. That's pretty much it.

Whoops, it's just Briar and Masterson. Weren't they arguing when they passed you hours ago? Weren't they supposed to be heading back up the other way?

"Sorry. What're you two doing here?"

"We were about to head home for the night, and we just thought we'd tell you that we saw some Nexar guy tryin' to stick his neck into this case. You seen any of the bastards?"

"No, sorry, haven't seen any. Who's that with you?"

You point at the new addition to their duo.

"What, him? We picked him up a few hours ago. We'll handle the guy."

Well, ok, their problem you guess. They begin to walk back the way they came. Not sure why they came all the way back, since it's a couple of hours until they hit the edge of the forest, but again, that's their problem. You should probably head back about now anyway.

John STEEL, there's a guy you can agree with. He didn't earn his title for nothing, which is why Strong didn't like him. Always getting into fights and losing to him, although he definitely kept trying. You haven't seen him for a while though. Maybe you'll get lucky and catch him for legally under the limit drink sometime. Although probably not, since you're moving out of Carsil in a couple of days, and STEEL is likely to be never seen again by you or anyone you know that you've interacted with recently. It occurs to you that you've still got a long way to walk to exit the forest. You pass the time by going over your photographic memory of the LAW.

What will you do now?

Hm, you know, class has already been decided, but I had another idea for something that would be pretty awesome if it were possible and worked even halfway as intended: Shapeshifter. Anyway...

"Briar, you're holding a sword. How the bloody hell are you going to get them from up there? Jump down and break your bloody legs?"

"I can't see the beauty of your plan because it's a bloody stupid plan."

"And what do you know anyway?"

"More than you. Besides, I'm the one with the crossbows, so your plan might actually work if I was up there."

"Well why don't you come up here then, smart-arse?"

"Because it's still a bloody stupid plan!"

That was Masterson, your companion. You appear to have reached a standoff in this argument. You might as well give a description of yourself while you're here. You've got black hair, cut to a medium length and going straight down, a very slightly broken nose, and a gaunt face with blue eyes.

Masterson down there has Brown hair cut short, a more square jaw, and a somewhat longer than normal nose, and green eyes. Arguing is a normal thing for you guys. You're also best friends. You're melee, carrying a katana, and he's ranged, carrying two one-handed crossbows holstered at his sides. You refuse to acknowledge his point in that being a deciding factor in the tree argument.

Actually, the Class has not been decided yet. It'll be decided soon, sorry to keep saying that, so your Shapeshifter suggestion has been added to the list.

Seeing someone attempt to come up behind your compatriot, you throw your katana, only barely missing, but giving Masterson enough time to draw and turn around and

"Why did you throw your sword at me?"

"Well, there's an interesting story behind that, but just let me assure you that it was done so at the command of sir Masterson down there.

"Not going to work Briar. Now get your ass out of that tree."

You remove your arse from the tree and retrieve your katana.

"I'm going to forget your attempted homicide right now, since we've got more important things to worry about. Now I want you walk down the path from where I came, and then all the way up to the opposite end of the forest. Now."

"So, what do you want me to do while he's doing that?"

"I want you to go with him Mr. Masterson. I haven't forgotten what you did back at the base."

"Oh come on, that was a great joke and you know it-"

"I don't care. Now get moving."

You start walking as she heads in the opposite direction. You wait until she's out of sight before turning to Masterson.

"So, are we actually going to walk all the way?"

"Nah. Wait ten minutes here, then head up. Say we ran."

You can't find anything to disagree with there. You find other things to disagree with shortly after as you begin your long walk to the other side of the forest.

You keep walking for an hour or so, passing the time by arguing, before spotting someone.

Oh god your head, someone please remove the man with the sledgehammer from your cranium... You force your eyes open and ok closing them again. You reopen them after a minute and the hammering in your head is more bearable. It should pass in a while, or at least until you get your special formula ready. Where have you ended up this time?

You're on a bed, which is nice for a change. That Arrival kid is next to you, and you're really hoping that you didn't do anything you'll regret during the last five minutes before you blacked out. Starting a fight, yes. Drunken shenanigans, no. You force yourself up, and wonder if you should wake the kid up.

You're still fully dressed, which is a helpful pointer towards shenanigans not happening. It's got a few small tears in unimportant places and you think that one bit is slightly charred, but other than that it's fine.

The room is just one of the small rooms in Kells' inn, one with a larger bed to accommodate the other guy, and has a small desk off to the side and a window, but other than that, there is nothing in your room, useful or otherwise.
