CnD is so much better for SO many reasons. A good CnD spy can sneak past an entire enemy force with ease. also it makes YER ing more feasible
    >amusingreactiongif.png

The DR is a very situational watch; you should only really use it if you need to get past a choke point or if you're running the saharan set. Also, part of being a good DR spy is making your feigns believable (or disguising as a friendly so you don't drop a spy corpse) and getting well enough away from danger so that you can decloak without too much fuss. Used effectively, it can make for a very formidable spy.

The CnD on the other hand is laughable, except when you are using the YER and need to get your first stab, then it's sorta acceptable. Otherwise it is, hands down, the worst watch. The stock invisi watch has a much longer cloak time (seeing as you can pick up ammo to refill it) and doesn't limit your mobility nearly as much as the CnD, thus making it easier to get behind the enemy team quicker.

Edit: also the Pyro was intended as an offensive ambush class, and most people who know what they're doing play him that way. Defensive pyro really just babysits engineer nests.

You should only really use it if you need to get past a choke point... or if you're on a public server and feel like never dying once and betting yourself how long you can repeatedly disguise as demoman before someone notices

DR is situational against good players. It excels against below-average, or even just bad players because they don't know what to look for. Also Enforcer huehuehue. InvisiWatch is the best watch hands down. There might be a few situations where you wish you had a different watch, but if you know when to cloak, where the ammo is, and how to uncloak, then you will never need another watch.

Demomen excel in pubs because they benefit from chaos. Lack of coordination? Sticky trap. Confused player? Sticky. Group of players huddled together? 'Nades. 32-person server? Well...

    first, (Via tumblr)

second the only reason I take CnD over regular inviswatch is because there have been times where in order to stay undetected I had to stay cloaked for a good 3 minutes or so. That and I like the ability to be able to be in a CTF match, make my way past all the enemies, and just sit on the flag for 5 minutes telling my team "Hey go get an uber I'm literally on TOP of their intel"

Re: [TF2] Thread 10! Server Rebooted - The Scratch

If you have to sit in one place to stay undetected for three minutes you honestly would have been better off being detected.
If you're sitting in one place as a spy for that long then honestly you probably just aren't doing your job properly. You need to be moving fairly frequently and scouting out targets, not waiting for one to come to you.

Demothulu needs to be a Hale boss or something.

That said, RE: spy watches - I used to use the CnD a lot more, though not as a 'sit invisible/walk invisible as much as possible' - it was more intended to make sure that I'd always have cloak when I needed it. I still tend to use it with my 'anti-engi' loadout, as when defense has multiple engis/sentries up, they tend to camp the metal locations, and it allows me to be much more precise about best time to strike. By and large though, since switching to stock watch (or rather, the PA re-skin because Pac-Man watch), I've had much better time, even those occasional moments when I run out of cloak just as someone on the other team happens to be walking by (usually a pyro). I also had a brief time where I was exclusive DR spy, but going back to stock, I remembered how absolutely lovely being able to cloak invisibly on demand is, rather than having to hope that you feigned convincingly enough. Though I still had some times when my first instinct was to pull out a watch, only to have it turn me invisible - usually getting me killed because obvious spy is obvious.

    As per the Spycloak discussion

I see potential points where the CnD could be useful, but in practically every situation you'll find yourself facing on a day-to-day basis, the stock invisiwatch is just so much better. It allows for more freedom of movement, and honestly, it's not like metal crates are far and few between. Even when I find a new map or something, I can generally find my way around it grabbing ammo crates or pausing behind unpopulated corners when the time calls for it. It's super easy to get behind enemy defenses and have enough time to disguise/snag a YER victim before things get too hot with stockwatch. I guess that maybe you could argue that people would see you picking up crates, but honestly, it's really only the super-observant players that notice it missing, and unless they're right next to you, it's difficult to even place where you are after that anyways.

I abuse disguises a lot more than cloaking. Basically, I begin by getting into position with cloak and pretend I am whatever class I disguise as for a convincing amount of time while regathering cloak charge (usually its medic for chasing "teammates" with medigun, demoman for staring at sticky traps, or pyro camping corners). Then someone runs by me completely oblivious and I deliver le backstabs. Impractical, but its more fun for me to hide in plain sight and actually try to influence the other team to do silly things.

My favorite is disguising as sandvich heavy and finding an injured teammate. Wait for them to stand still to receive fake sandvich, then I ambassador headshot them.

I don't know who "hama" is, but I think teleporter traps would be considered somewhat poor form.

I haven't used your eternal reward in a long time
It's a hard knife to use, but when it works out, it sure as hell works out.
It's most hilarious when you stab someone who's spychecking everyone else, and then someone else starts spychecking and you stab them.
And so sometimes you can just go around stabbing literally everyone in sight.
It makes quick work of literally everyone, however, if you can't use it like that, you're likely to get caught due to how situational each disguise is.

To anyone who can answer: Can you provide a quick list of all the plugins the server is running? As in, absolutely everything that's not vanilla. Would be much appreciated.

Oh hey I played with this hama person earlier

His activities on the server are what made me decide that I prefer playing on OCR.

sourcemod, vs saxton hale, votecrits, rtv/nominate according to OP. Maybe a few more.
Not sure if votecrits/rtv/nominate count as separate things since its pretty much part of sourcemod?

I have only seen this kind of stuff happening during silly periods, but yes, that is rather poor form.

DeathChat, FunCommands, HLStatsX, TF2Items, UMC-Voting, VoteCrit, VoteScramble, VSH (switching to Freak Fortress 2). If there is anything else, it came by default.

FF2 has much more room for customization, and actually lets you make new bosses without having to mess with source code. It's otherwise almost the exact same as VSH.

So, I noticed the cloak and dagger's depletion is much more slower if you are crawling around, which I found out it is so useful when I crawl my way across CP_Orange and starts to backstab the snipers...

though the Dead ringer is still the most useful watch IMO.
