Not really. But I'm going to try and explain this in the most craziest way possible. Good luck deciphering it.

The Alpha kids actually have a timeline of existence, because SBURB compensated for the lack of ectobiology, or saved itself the trouble of having to go through that process again when it had perfectly good babies to use. So, it imported. Thus, they are not actually glitched or doomed at all. They are very much part of a recognized timeline.

The Pre-scratch kids are the ones who are either doomed or are (no, fuck that, they aren't doomed, if they were, SBURB wouldn't be preparing the next session for their arrival) glitched, because SBURB has not legitimized their existence time-wise but have...game-wise? It might not be completely flawless as we assume, or I'm wrong here, but they actually escaped their scratched universe. That means they lost whatever timeline that was from there. Everything in that session is wiped clean. Especially time.

Try to think of it as a Save game that has had it's characters removed and placed into a new save (and remember, time players act as save games). They have all the levels, but they didn't do anything to earn them. They don't even have any play time yet, as far as the game is concerned, which is an impossibility. So they are a glitch in Space/Time. Without a recorded of achievement or playtime to legitimize their current status.

This is why I think Dave's powers won't work until they reach the next session, or, will only work between the past year too his present moment. He's only existing timeline.

Yeah, I largely agree with that. The best argument I could come up with for the post-scratchers being doomed is that, from a purely post-scratch perspective, the meteors they arrive from come from nowhere. Every meteor that hit pre-scratch earth corresponds to one of the meteors unleashed on Skaia during the session's Reckoning, thus sanctioning the pre-scratch kids and guardians 's existence via stable time-loop boobersnaffery. Whereas the Reckoning isn't even going to happen Post-Scratch . . . But I digress. If Janey and Jakey and Roxyy and Dirky can pop out of nowhere (again, purely from the Post-Scratch perspective), surely it's fine for the Battleship and Meteor kids to as well?

I don't even think it'll necessary be an issue of mortality if Dave gets a bit freaked by his own stuffed corpse, so much as it is Dave and Rose wondering just what's wrong with Jade that she feels the need to taxidermise anything and everything she's ever loved.
