His dad certainly did a lot to be more like him. Maybe not entirely effectively but the effort was there

It almost seems unfair, putting Homestuck in a webcomic contest. MSPA is soooooooooooooo much more that a webcomic, it's a mixed-media work of genius that isn't like anything else as it is. If it comes fourth on a context of pure-webcomicness, I'd be happy, because the webcomic aspect is just one (albeit large) part of the magic of it all.

Hark a Vagrant because history and it's awesome and nerdy and awesome, and Lackadaisy because holy shit is the art amazing, and so much attention is paid to details and historical accuracy and it's just crazy impressive, it deserves to go onto the next round much more than C+H

I've never read Lackadaisy, but the way you describe it makes me sad it'll lose to Cyanide & Happiness. I mean I like C&H, it's pretty funny sometimes, but I don't think the creator has to put that much effort into it. I mean, he makes those videos sometimes, but certainly the art doesn't take long to churn out.
I'm probably going to check out most of these webcomics at some point

I don't remember too well, but wasn't that because his dad was (from John's pov) a silly guy? And his Dad acted like that because he assumed John liked clowns a whole lot?

Oh yes, of course. I'm saying I won't be disappointed if it doesn't win, as far as pure webcomics go there are others probably more deserving of the number one spot. Still want it to do well though!

off topic a bit, but one thing I kind of dislike is how the characters all become generic in appearance as they hit God Tier. like, John had that awesome dark green suit, for instance, Rose had her punisher-squiddle outfit, Dave had his red and black rad suits, etc (and they all had many other outfits as well), but they were all distinctive and unique. once you attain God Hoody you lose your personal style in favor of predetermined outfits, and I think that's a little disappointing.

Well, his problem is really less with death as a whole and more with his own mortality.
