Emphasis on the word 'also'. As in: Kanaya is unhappy to be part of a four troll abomination including not only Vriska, but also Tavros and Terezi, Tavros and Terezi both having problems with Vriska.

Er, I don't think anyone knows for sure exactly how Hussie made the shadows and such, so there is no standard for how to do so. All people can do is try to replicate it as best they can, and that "tutorial" just separates the frames and makes observations to help people do so. (It's also worth it to note that the shadows don't work without a background since gifs don't support partial transparencies.) Given how little knowledge of Gimp you have, it's probably best that you forgo the shadows and just do a normal scratchfication, like most people do anyway.
