Yep! This is a good example of it, which differs from GCAT's in some significant ways.

Huh. I like this simple, non-flashy version. Easier to do.

step 1: get panels with gcat and without gcat
step 2: black silhouette of gcat with #02ff00 background
step 3: #02ff00 with normal background
step 4: duplicate step 3's layer. change to 70% opacity. duplicate panel without gcat. merge.
step 5: repeat step 4 except 40% opacity
step 6: repeat step 4 except 13% opacity
step 7: order panels properly. first panel lasts 1000ms. last panel lasts 3000ms. other panels last 50ms.

If you open it up in GIMP, you'll see that Scratch starts out at about 600% and then goes 400, 200... etc etc etc. It's just blowing up the character sprite to an aliased larger version and filling all of the stuff that's outside its scope with a solid colour / scratchy colour. Not hard!

That over sized coat gave me trouble and I had to draw part of it free-hand. Other than that I think it's pretty okay.

(I mean, unless we can just edit other's manips without credit? I don't know how that works around here...)

Credit is nice if the previous manips were done quite a few pages in the past, I think. :U otherwise it's kind of obvious.

That person might find that people tend to not remanip things they've done if they do so, though? ...And yours was fairly recent so I don't think it's that much of an issue in that respect either?

I don't think you have to really explain yourself. After all, no harm done. I actually think that ,especially at image manip, giving credit is nice, but the fact, that someone used your manip and made it better is itself a big compliment. At lest that's how I feel. And after all, we don't give credit to Hussie everytime, it's just evident that he gets it without saying, isn't it?

I felt like adding it, though it's only how I feel about this thread and community and almost not even relevant to your original question that was already answered. But still, you can ask for credit, but that makes things weird, don't you think? Like asking money from your best bro because you gave him a lift to the city....

i just made the blur tool on Gimp really big and then drug it over a black sprite to the left or the right

it looked a lot cooler before saving it as a gif made the colors less different
