The mob was arguing as usual, when one very excited young man stood up. "I know just what we need to figure this out, and the time has finally come for it-" he could barely get the words out due to his ebullience.

In fact, he couldn't.
He suddenly fell over, presumably due to a heart attack or something. No one was exactly volunteering to do an autopsy right then and there, so guesses had to be made.
If you were getting really unscientific, you could call it an act of God.

Diego Manuel was sure that a little bit of free talking was what people needed. He was an ardent student of Jung, and had graduated with a bachelor’s in Psychology before joining Posteco, as part of their market research team. He had complete faith in the idea that open communication would save the human race.
If you really started talking, his ideas would border into the extreme, with his eyes shining as he spoke of brain implants connecting everyone all the time, so that no one was ever alone. A society grown to the point where free speech was truly free, and no one had to hide anything. Of course, he was a brilliant man, and as long as he reined himself into the confines of reality his ideas were solid. He would get shipped around to Posteco offices, teaching them to have honest discussions, and doing exercises to make people feel less nervous about speaking their minds to a superior. Posteco was completely determined to modernize their business practices, and Diego was one of their tools in that.
He had just begun on this certain building when the lockdown started. While startled, he was perhaps not as afraid as he should have been. After all, one of the ultimate tests of a theory was how it held up in a crisis, and this was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show Posteco what it could really do. If he managed to make a success of it, he might even be able to make these practices industry wide! He could see the journalistic reviews of his paper now. Yes, he would show them. Show them all.
Diego Manuel was the GROUP COUNSELOR. Once per game, he could allow private pm communications between anyone and everyone for one day. He is aligned with the POSTECO LOYALISTS (town) and wins when all threats to town are dead.

curiousCat is the one missing this morning. Some are surprised, others aren't. You're not sure how you expect to find the body, but it wasn't simply "crushed underfoot". Either the killer didn't have the heart to make a production of it, or it simply wasn't as...."inspiring" as the late Ms. Clark had been.
Y'see, it wasn't exactly the kind of body you were expecting to find.
A lot of strange things get overlooked, and this was one of them.

Parakarry was….well, a parakarry. The majority of workers who had encountered one at Posteco simply refused to acknowledge the existence of such a cartoonishly illogical animal. Even the ones who recognized the reference usually shied away from accepting its reality.
It was, perhaps, one of the most egregious examples of Posteco’s absurd forays into biotech messaging. There were rumors that there were even more ridiculous creatures, but Parakarry was the only one most humans could even begin to comprehend, but incomprehensible things are apt to stay just myths. And it was indisputably the only one of its kind. At some point, Posteco must have realized after creating how weird what they were doing was, and shut down the project. Turtles really were not meant to have wings and fly.
This is not to say it wasn’t a fairly efficient messenger. Despite waddling awkwardly when on its feet, it flew through the air in a way that was not especially graceful but nonetheless practical, much like a duck. Come to think of it, it probably had some duck involved in its making. You simply stuck a letter in its satchel and it would carry it off to the address of your recipient. You didn’t even need to worry about it prying into your business, as despite its shady origins intelligence did not seem to be what its makers were aiming for, inasmuch as anyone who thinks merging animals to mimic a video game character sounds like a sound business plan and a great way to spend an evening can be thought of as having rational goals.
The parakarry, being a dumb, servile animal, could not really comprehend the current goings on. It certainly would not be involved in a plot to bite the hand that feeds. It fell back on its natural instinct, which had been forcibly altered from “fight or flight” to “DELIVER LETTERS”. What else could it do?
Parakarry was PM WITHOUT THE REACTIVE VIG ABILITY (PMWTRVA)*. Each night it could choose someone, they would then invest it with a letter to deliver to someone else. It would know the recipient, but not the message. As it was a sweet, stupid creature it would probably have whined unhappily if the intended recipient died instead of flying into a blood-rage and killing someone. Come on. It is aligned with the POSTECO LOYALISTS (town) and wins when all threats to town are dead.

Some members of the mob tried to avoid feeling relieved that the sad little abomination was gone.
