Besides, I don't see why people brag about getting to play a game first when the newer, updated versions play a lot better and are more polished. It's the newcomers that get to see all these updates on their first go.

Right now I'm compiling a huge armsheet based on weapon proficiency.
It would be good to update that each time new arms are added.
At the bottom is gonna be a list of every unique arm as well.
Right now it's not too comprehensive because most of the troll sprites use Terezi's arms... for some reason?

Do NOT take every one of those 54 arms on the bottom and add them to every single character. That would be stupid.
This sheet exists for the purpose of cataloguing and narrowing down all the arms so it's easier to pick and choose which would be most relevant for a type of weapon or character. I specifically chose samples with solid colours (not white) so that it's easier to swap the colours around, with the exception of Davesprite's arms because fuck you.

This is because all characters that hold any sort of weapon, be it a hammer, staff, sickle, wand, trident, etc., can use the same arms. I've arranged them like this so that if you decide to implement a custom character creator, the arms and respective animations are already laid out depending on which strife specibus is chosen.
But I'll extend it to the side and categorize it by fighting style as well. Gimme a second.

a second gimme'd sufficiently. I also added every single possible weapon I could find, including the quills of echidna, that Unbreakable Caltana I made earlier, and the real version of the Sord.
EDIT: Another reason this could be useful is Vriska.

Instead of having her be a non-canonical melee fighter
You could
Have her fight with every weapon. Randomized.
Her choice would be her normal white dice, or her blue dice, with the difference being power. And every time you play as her it randomizes which strife specifibus she uses in the fight.
Then her 'x' could be her throwing down the dice, and her weapon changing randomly, in case you're stuck with i dunno spoonkind.
This means that you'd pretty much have to do her sprites and animation last, and also you'd need a white and blue vriska-version of every weapon. Which is... deceptively difficult I suppose?

Well I wrote down some stuff earlier so I guess I'll update that.
As well, remember how down-z used to be the special attack? You could reimplement that and make 'x' an alternate weapon attack, most often ranged. Like for instance Jake's 'z' would be a series of kicks and pistol whips, while down-z is a knockback and 'x' fires bullets.

Jane: Regains a bit of health. Should work even after death. Ooohh, achievement: come back to life and defeat Jack.
Jake: Knocks Jack back to gain a bit of distance.
Dirk: CAL. It's a stun.
Roxy: Places a pair of windows on the ground. They teleport all players from one window to the next on contact.
Karkat: Trips Jack. Instant to the ground.
Gamzee: Smashes Jack up into the air. No cooldown but takes a second to warm up.
Tavros: FAIRYBULL SWARM.
Terezi: WALLOP (she wallops Jack, which catapults her over Jack's head and onto the other side)
Sollux: Throws Jack up into the air psychically.
Vriska: Changes weapon randomly. Huge cooldown and needs an uninterrupted second or so to work.
Nepeta: Cartwheels over Jack (like Terezi's thing)
Equius: Shrouds himself in a black cloud. Jack cannot make an attack while in the dark cloud, but Equius can. Alone, it's not really all that great, but with teammates, especially ones with huge warm-up attacks, it would be the most useful special in the game. Not that teammates are gonna be implemented in all likelihood, but imagine.
Kanaya: Drains Jack's health, regains her own. Not nearly as potent as Jane's recovery though.
Aradia: Freezes Jack in time for as long as the button is held down (immobile while doing so). In god-tier it'd show that red time clock, but in any other outfit it should just look like her holding Jack there psychically.
Feferi: Smashes Jack up into the air, I guess.
Eridan: Does some cape thing. Counter-attack of some sort, maybe?
SMASH ATTACKS are for straight-up damage, and should hopefully be complemented by their respective special attacks.
John: Hammer Smash. Just smashes the hammer. Like what Dave's moving-x currently does.
Dave: Dashes forward with a stab that can be followed up with a combo.
Rose: Smashes needles down to the floor and makes sparks capable of knocking Jack into the air a bit. Close range.
Jade: Fires her gun. Harpoons and Rifles take a second to warm-up followed by a strong ranged attack. Machine-guns sustain fire (but don't hinder enemy movement). The green sun gun shoots green suns. Which I guess is overpowered? It'd have a much lower rate of fire but a significantly greater damage output than the machine gun, but it still shouldn't hinder enemy movement.
Jane: Identical to Dave's, I guess. The spoon doesn't seem powerful enough to convincingly pull off a big smash or whatnot.
Jake: Fires pistols. Semi-automatic. Faster you hit x, more bullets.
Dirk: Big stab. Pulls sword back, stabs it forward.
Roxy: Identical to Jade's.
Karkat: Jumps up, slices down. It's a more powerful attack but can be interrupted.
Gamzee: Spins clubs, then hits Jack with both. It takes comparatively a long time to warm up, but it also would be indisputably the most powerful attack in the game (reference what he did when he fought the black king)
Tavros: Lance charge. Obviously. In fact, what else can he do with his specibus? I guess he could kind just, like, hit them with it. Just whack them in the head. That would be what his main 'z' does. Just wallops them with the broad side of a lance. Tavros is kind of pathetic and his specibus sucks.
Terezi: Identical to Dirk's. References her killing of Vriska.
Sollux: Laser beams. If he's in the air, he shoots them down diagonally. Huge warm-up. If they connect with Ahab's Crosshairs' beam, you get an achievement.
Vriska: Entirely dependent on her strife specibus.
Nepeta: Identical to Karkat's.
Equius: STRONG PUNCH. (Identical to Dirk's, but shorter range and higher knockback power).
Kanaya: Chainsaw spin. Spins around with a chainsaw. You should be able to do it indefinitely, but it's easy to interrupt and has a short range. Then again, it should also be steadily moving in one direction.
Aradia: Takes a long time to warm up, but she grabs Jack psychically and quickly tosses him up and smashes him down to the ground if he's in range. It'd be just like, waaaaarrrmm-uuppp TOSSMASH.
Feferi: Prod. Cull. Prod prod. Cull.
Eridan: Identical to Jade's, except he can only use Ahab's Crosshairs or his magic milk-coloured wand thing.

Also, troll attack ideas & playstyles, all of which are subject to scrutiny critique n whatnot, preferably in tonight's memo. Adheres strictly to the 'defined strengths & weaknesses' mantra.
Karkat: lots of knockdown and attack canceling abilities. He shouldn't be smacking people with the sickle because that's not how actual sickle fighting goes down. The sickle should be used to grab while the free hand deals damage. Attacks should not be aspect related because what even is knight of blood.
+knockdown +disarms +close range
Tavros: Instead of a chain, Tavros' attack strength should depend on how fast he's moving before the attack hits, as lances are used on horseback as opposed to being grounded. His other attacks should be stab(s) or thrusts can create distance to make way for an effective charge. Technically a long range fighter
+knockback +lunge +long range
Sollux: Lots of stuns from several optic-related abilities, his special obviously being the charged optic blast. Any close range attacks should be used to stun, allowing sollux to run back.
+long range +stuns +charges
Nepeta: Very quick claw slashes as opposed to stabs, uses tackle-pounce to close gaps between herself and the opponent.
+lunge +close range
Kanaya: Chainsaw is revved before going into the standard chain, requires another change to perform subsequent chains. The lipstick can be incorporated in SOME WAY.
+charge +heavy hits +close range
Terezi: Lots of binds. Uses the collaspable cane + nooses to hold opponents, but the binds have limited short range

Vriska: If the octet changes her weapon set, then each set should focus on different fighting styles or else the change is entirely useless. Otherwise the octet can provide damage buffs, self inflicted debuffs or control scrambles. The problem with the idea that the octet alters her weapon is that canon doesn't really reflect it. The known octet outcomes are as follows: Musclebeast, Weasel, levitation, nap-time, guillotine, duttle, reroll and ancestral awakening, meaning only one roll actually gives Vriska a tangible, wield-able weapon. With 16 million combinations, we can infer that the octet could yield more weapons, but it's reaching into the realm of speculation. Three of those, however, can be implemented by some kind of debuff.

Equius: Strong yet slow punches. Easy to interrupt but difficult to tank. Causes knock back. Very difficult to close gaps between opponents.

Gamzee: Moveset should reflect his perpetually intoxicated nature. Sobriety should be increased through specials or other means, which in turn would increase damage or whatever.

Feferi: 2x3dent combat should closely resemble staff fighting. Instead of swipes, Fef can rotate the 2x3dent and perform stabs and disarming maneuvers. Playstyle should mirror Karkat minus the knockdowns.

Terminology
knockdown: knock the opponent down (obviously), disables ability to attack or move
disarm: Disables attack ability for x amount of seconds
stun: disables movement for x amount of seconds
bind: disables movement longer than stun
knock back: pushes opponent away
