Pokemon Emerald Scramble Challenge (Pokemon chosen, will start tomorrow))

Quote Originally Posted by The Rules
The Scramble Challenge is basically a challenge where other people choose what Pokemon you use on your Pokemon journey! It's entirely up to the posters how easy or hard your challenge will be, although there are a couple of restrictions to prevent it from becoming too easy or too difficult.

    Rules

    1. No duplicates of any Pokemon.

    2. No legendary Pokemon.

    3. No Pokemon from the following list of "useless" Pokemon - Magikarp, Caterpie, Metapod, Weedle, Kakuna, Unown, Wurmple, Cascoon, Silcoon, Burmy, Combee, and Feebas. Please note, their evolved forms (if they have any) are allowed; just no unevolvable Magikarp or Caterpie or anything like that.

    4. For every challenge, you must state which game version you will be playing and whether or not you can trade, so as to prevent confusion when issuing Pokemon.

    5. The first 6 people to post Pokemon for a challenge are the ones that will be used (as long as they follow the rules). You may only hand out 1 Pokemon per team per post.

    6. If there are any Pokemon you dislike or refuse to use, or any other restrictions you would like to have, then be sure to make them clear when starting a new challenge.

    7. Just have fun! It may be challenging, but it's not too hard, and neither will it have you tearing your hair out.
A couple other things of note!

This will not be nuzlocke ruled, though you can certainly have that as a requirement (must be released if fainted, cannot evolve if fainted, etc).

The six pokemon I use are first come first serve. You may make a "reserved" post so others know you have claimed it. I doubt it will be much of a problem anyway, but I don't want people wasting time figuring out something good only to have it stolen from under their noses! If you do reserve, please post your pokemon within 24 hours, otherwise your spot will be up for grabs until you fill it.

I plan on doing a couple of these and doing these quick, so if you wanted to submit something but didn't get a chance now, there will be another chance.

Using random.org it was randomly decided that I would be using the dark type. All pokemon must have some form that is Dark type and be allowed to evolve into that form if necessary. It is not necessary they know dark type moves.

So now get to it! Be as creative or straight forward as you like. Just a quick list of requirements:

    1. Must have dark by the time I'm done.
    2. Don't do anything ridiculous. Your stipulations should at least by reasonable and not take a lot of time.
    3. I will require a dark pokemon before the first gym, so make sure one of you has that covered. First poster should probably do it?
    4. If you're looking for inspiration for what to do and what NOT to do, this thread should help!
    5. Given the scarcity of dark pokemon, the rule of duplicates is waived. But please, do not do 6 poochyenas. That is ridiculous and kind of boring.
    6. Trades are not allowed. Breeding moves is allowed.
    7. Be sure to research and make sure your pokemon is a viable thing that can happen. I'll be double-checking to make sure they are! Use Bulbapedia if you need help.

He gets so annoyed at everyone calling him a girl that he initially won't go into a battle after anyone else has been in (i.e. he can only start). As in the obvious male/female fight, he must defeat one person by himself in Brawly's gym, but that person cannot be Brawly himself. After you beat Brawly, you can evolve him.

I have to go to bed now, but just warning that there is stuff for him as a Girlia... I mean, Kirlia.

    (The next morning)
    Yes, further instructions to follow.
As a Kirlia, it manages to look even more girly. Will the teasing never stop? To avoid teasing for how much girls like to shop, because he's obviously a boy, he cannot be taught any TMs or HMs as a Kirlia (so do those as a Ralts). Also, he cannot be in your team when entering the Lillicove Department Store; you have to deposit him in the PC before entering. Eventually, you will get to the greatest challenge a Psychic pokemon could ever face: its own type gym in Mossdeep. Because he is concerned with proving himself the best psychic pokemon, all battle restrictions are lifted (i.e., he can switch in and can be taught TMs while in the gym only). IF he manages to land the final hit on Tate and Liza's Lunatone or Solrock, then he has proven himself to be the best. No longer caring about the gender confusion, he can now freely evolve into a Gardevoir and learn more TMs, as well as being allowed to be switched into battle. If he fails to do so, he goes back to his old restrictions. Regardless of his success, he must solo at least one pokemon from Sydney or Phoebe.

Siegmundfried: Corphish/Crawdunt named KARKAT. Teach it frustration (via TM) and keep it at minimum happiness level. Once it learns Crabhammer it must keep that move.

Mr. Tie: Cacnea named Grimm or Linda. Must learn sucker punch before it evolves, and must use the move at some point while it's in battle. Cannot learn Solar Beam

PepperYena: A Poochyena/Mightyena with a defense or special defense boosting nature. Must keep Take Down, though it may be replaced with Hyper Beam. Must learn and keep first Dark-Type move found as a TM.

ArcticDisease: Male Shiftry named Old Hickory (or just Hickory). More to come?!

amnesiaDinosaur: Male Absol who learns Thief and must use it first turn it enters battle.

If you have further questions, please ask!

Huh, interesting. Never seen one of these before, but the idea is intriguing. I'll take a stab at Pokemon selection, though.

Hm... take a Corphish/Crawdaunt, name it 'KARKAT'. Teach it Frustration via TM and make sure to maintain its happiness at a minimum. Once it learns Crabhammer, it must keep that move.

Get a sandshrew/sandlash whatever, I could make up some rules, but just get one eventually (love those things... not sure why too much)

edit:actually that dark type thing might mess me up with that

edit edit:yeah quick reading didn't do me any good, seems that's out of question this time around... I'll see if I can come up with something other then an Umbreon, no garentee though.

Moar editing, and Evee can't even be gotten without trading in that generation, but I'll post a real contender in another post soon.

    -A Poochyena/Mightyena

-It must have a nature that ups Defense or Special Defense

-Once it learns Take Down, you must keep it forever OR until you get the Hyper Beam TM which you can use to replace ti

-You must use the first Dark-Type TM you find on it and keep it (Taunt, Torment, Thief, or Snatch)

    Is that okay?

Perfect! I'll add it. That also covers my first pokemon as well.

That'll be up for you to decide

So aside from the 2 moveslots I pre-determined, you have 2 other moves you can be free with. Have fun!

Kíeroooooos, Ralts ain't dark type :I

Buuuuuuuuut I will allow it just this once. I am too morbidly curious to see where this goes. I guess his inner struggle with gender identity is dark and tormented enough.

    alright, so

Cacnea/Cacturne. Can only evolve once it learns Sucker punch and must use it at least once per battle it participate in afterward (must keep the move), cannot be taught Solarbeam.
    If male named Grimm
    If female named Linda
(or any name that's up to you, just suggestions)

    does that do?

I feel like this'll be pretty awesome.
    Shiftry:
male: Hickory (Or Old Hickory if it fits)
That's pretty much all I can think of at the moment.
Feel free to call me anything you want. For example: "Arctic", "AD", "That one asshole"

Alrighty. That's another good point! If you come up with another stipulation or something later, that is totally okay! I mostly just need enough to get me started.

    Absol
    Male
Has to learn Thief (via TM) and use it the first turn it enters battle

Re: Pokemon Emerald Scramble Challenge (Now accepting last pokemon)

-Get a Seedot (I'm not good with nicknames, so name it whatever the hell you want)
-Once it's a Nuzleaf, you must immediately use a Leaf Stone on it when you obtain one.
-It must keep Bide until it's Level 35, but it cannot be replaced with a Grass-Type or a Dark-Type move.

Edit: I really shouldn't keep tabs open for too long without refreshing the page. -_-

Mr. Tie, it would seem Sucker Punch isn't introduced as a move until Generation 4. Would you like to change that to something else? Needle Arm might be a good equivalent? At the very least it's learned at the same level.

hmm, I was sure I saw it was introduced, probably haven't seen as I thought.

Needle arm sounds alright, not sure what else to really put instead to be honest. we'll see how that goes.

Seems I'm ending up influencing something, that's always neat to begin with. (I really need to get the time to finish my blasted Nuzlock run, perhaps give this a chance as well eventually)

Okay so additional stuff: Must learn Bullet Seed until it becomes a Shiftry. Must learn Brick Break as soon as you get it. Must Solo one gym leader with it.
Also, after reading the thread, I was going to wonder if you wanted to do a race with this, but I'm not sure how that would work. (I just kind of want to do this too, it sounds fun)

Ehhhh to be honest I kind of go at my own tempo with these kinds of things and prefer to do it at my leisure. I've no claim to the idea though, so if you'd like to do it too, go for it! If you don't want to make a whole thread with screen shots and video and shiz I'm sure if you go to the pokemon thread people will give you pokemon to use. There are also other threads where you can get challenges out there in the interwebz (you'll have to google).

How are you going to be obtaining these pokemon? Is it just going to be you running around until you encounter one or are you going to use a code to encounter them early?

No cheat codes, no. I encounter 'em when I encounter em. It ain't gonna be easy that's for sure. It's part of the reason I can't start today. BUT YOU'LL KNOW WHY LATER (those of you who might already be able to guess why, can it, I want it to be a surprise).

    SOMEWHERE IN AN ALTERNATE DIMENSION

THIS FORGETTING OF MY NAME SEEMS ALL TOO FAMILIAR FOR SOME REASON

Is that so? I could have sworn I just completed something pretty epic a little while ago. BUT I CAN'T REMEMBER A DAMN THING!

CIVIL RIGHTS FOR POKEMON-AUGH WHERE DID THAT COME FROM?!

Alright okay I'm cool, I can do this. I'll just go meet Professor Bitch and maybe he can tell me what's going onl

I didn't know you were a chauvinist pig

So I heard you like bad memes

No, fuck that. Your child is a little asshole and I am sick and tired of having shitty friends.

    FUCK YOU ALL

Take that you pig! WHAT? SAD YOU LOST TO A GIRL?!

OH GOD MORE DEJA VU THIS HAPPENED BEFORE I KNOW IT. WELL YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET ME THIS TIME YOU HEAR ME?! FUCK YOUR GROUNDHOGS.

Apparently I can't get out of her house soon enough. She had to buy me running shoes so I could sprint the fuck away from her town.

"Don't let the pokemon kill you on the way out, honey!"

ANYWAY It's time to catch some poky mans

Fiirst we get our Poochyena. I had to catch about 4 before I found one with a proper natures. This one improves Sp. Defense and lowers Defense... so it goes.

    I found about 8 female Ralts's

But I finally caught a male one. Now a name... should be particularly effeminate and degrading....

That works! Ahahahaha no I kid I name him (her?) Ophelia.

Also you see this thing? This thing right here?

    1% FUCKING CATCH RATE. GRRRRRRRRR

ANYWAY finally we can go on to the first gym. Sorry in advance for the extremely shitty quality. Had a quick upload time though! I'll have to experiment some more.

    She got OldHickory'd.

I think the "Stone Badge increases your attack power" Isn't actually true and is just an illusion, because Roxanne's Pokemon were so painstakingly defensive that everything you fight after them will be far easier to take down, hence the 'raised attack'
