But yeah, the reason I don't like RD as gay is because:

1. It's too easy. It's a lot more interesting to write her as straight with subtle bicuriousness.
2. I'm peeved that gays get to own all usage of rainbows when I think rainbows are a generally awesome motif.
3. It's sort of sexist to assume the athletic tomboy is gay just because she likes rainbows.

I prefer the rainbow as a symbol of divine power (and murder). Rainbow Dash is a one-mare nuke loyal to Celestia.

I don't ship RD (or any of the others) with other female characters because of rainbows or whatever

I do it because it's adorable

(also most of the cast is female anyway so it's not like there's much in the way of options there)

I remain confused why there seems to be so little Rainbow Dash/Little Strongheart out there. When I first saw the episode, I assumed it would be a big thing, but it practically doesn't exist. There's like one clopfic and everything else is Braeburn Braeburn Braeburn. 'Tain't right!

The first one is kind of glorious all around. The third got a good chuckle out of me too, and the one where she's dragging her by her tail has great expressions on all three characters.
