OK, just finished skimming through the thread again because clearly there are some things I'd forgotten... can't believe I didn't even recognize Jael when I made my last suggestion... I am dumb.

<Ram>: They left their world because they thought something was taking over their bodies, or something. They don't trust the ones up there because they think they're probably all those things that were attacking them, disguised as people! They must think the same thing about us!

<Prosapient>: When? Where?
<Ram>: Well, uh... Does that... really matter right now?
<Prosapient>: Perhaps not. Regardless, they believe we're their enemies. I must kill them.

Just tell them you are from outside. You must screen them before quarantine. (that should let them understand we are not on the infected side)

<Prosapient>: They already know this. We told them as soon as we arrived that we were from outside the ship. If they believe we're from this metaform race, as you claim, then no matter who we claim we are or where we're from, we could simply be lying to gain their trust. It would be a simple matter to take alien forms they don't recognize and claim the ship had crashed. That's what they're arguing over, right now.



<Ram>: Well... Damn! And they didn't even know the ship crashed. Kale said they were in here for years before they realized they weren't even underground - much less it was flying around. Guess the only way to prove it would be to take them outside. That way they could see -
<Prosapient>: Which they would be unwilling to do, yes.
<Ram>: What if we brought something from outside to -



<Prosapient>: I've already considered that option and several others. None are as expedient as ending this now and herding the citizens out by force. Further resistance is unlikely.
<Ram>: But -
<Prosapient>: Their logic is self-reinforcing. Anything we say can be construed as proof that we're their enemies. Unless you have any other relevant information you're withholding, I must ask you to discreetly take cover or leave. Do nothing to give away what I'm about to do.

The two Lowbrows continue arguing. The soldier gives Ram a moment to leave.

The trooper ignores Ram. Calm, collected, emotionless. In between raising a gun and holding a blade to a hostage's throat, the soldier's equipment clicks, sounding a brief static.

<Ram>: You're not even trying to save these people! You're not giving them a chance!

It rattles off a series of military protocols, into what apparently is a radio built into its helmet. Failure to coerce, it says. Something on the other end continues this exchange.

<Ram>: You're not even trying anything! It's like you want to kill them! Try to convince them anyway! Blow a hole in the damned ship! Who cares! You should be doing everything you can!



<Ram>: We're not helpless! We're not helpless if we just try!

Priority target, potentially. Require assistance.

<Ram>: I bet if they were rich - if this was on TV, or something, you'd be tripping over yourself to help them! Nobody cares about us down here, do they? It's just a big damned party for you, coming down here, free poor people to kill, just for the fun of it! Just to - to -

<Ram>: I don't even know what the hell is going on! This damned ship and that thing in the elevator and her and these giants and - just tell me what you want! Is this some kind of test?

<Ram>: I can't hurt you or do a damned thing to you so do I just have to keep yelling!? Do I have to keep shouting in your face before you listen? How angry do I have to be!? Do I have to hit you, shoot you to get you to stop and just listen for one second and just - just - !

<Ram>: But you don't even care! You don't care! You don't even think! You're a machine! Just another cog keeping your fucking country running even if it kills everyone in it, because that's what you're trained to do, because that's what your bosses are paid to tell you to do!

Mmm he's kinda resilient. Time to pop up a stabilizer shot.
The scavenger will be back at some point and things could get uneasy to explain, better take him to shelter.

Rip off the soldier's head, then carry the soldier's corpse and the kid out of here. Bring the head.
Once you get outside change into the soldier's gear, dispose of the corpse, and fireman-carry the kid away from this place. Screw what John meant; recruits don't count as witnesses.

Like before, the soldier moves inumanly fast, but purposefully. He jukes from Jael and knifes Kale.



His goal was Kale's gun. The Prosapient throws the ordinary man like a rag doll. He lines a shot at the mourning father - the only other person with a high-powered rifle. Eliminating the major threats.

He doesn't know who the real threat is.

Something in the soldier's armor strains, whirs. He's obviously in a lot of pain, but his strength suddenly increases. He's far stronger than a normal person.



But not strong enough.

All right. Maybe last update on these forums. I believe I'll be moving to TG Chan as my suggestion box, since more people are interested, and suggesters are saying they don't want to register here. (Don't blame them.) I'll let you know when I move. I'm not sure what to do about the thread here, as I really don't feel like updating it this way anymore. Reformatting the whole update just for the four or so people who really consistently read this thread (and not even the main site) is a real killer. I may pop in to mention updates, but probably not, as that'd be a little weird, having two suggestion boxes.

If you've got input on that, feel free. MSPA hasn't been anywhere near as active as I'd hoped, but it's done all right for getting me started out, I suppose.
