I... I think that this could be made into a standalone story. A movie. I mean the whole sad decline of earth.

It would open with a sequence of subliminal Betty Crocker messaging, then grandma Jade getting offed, then the big opening scene would be the 2011 rebranding and recognizing BC as an alien threat. Role title screen: HOMESTUCK THE MOVIE: THE DECLINE OF ALPHA EARTH.

The rest of the movie follows earth's descent into madness. Climactic scenes would involve Dave murdering ICP (this is an R rated movie), and whatever awesome thing Rose does. Hopefully we could actually get ICP and Guy to play themselves in the movie.

This should be a Fan Project.
I would kill for a ticket to this movie when it plays.

Unrelated. I think it be funny to see Mom Rose fight a with a sewing needle. That, or a GIANT SYRINGE NEEDLE would be awesome.

Honestly. As i first read that update, the first thought running through my head was: Holy shit, MSPA just died on me.

Then i broke into an uncontrollable laughing fit and everything was okay again.
I think exactly this is what that update was meant for.

I am really curious how Momrose would fight.

Probably about the same as how Rose did before. No point in messing with a formula for success (unless she's up against a dog-headed demigod). The only real change I could see to her fighting style would involve more punching Fieri in his doughy face.

Also, I just realized that Davebro successfully auspiticized President Jay's torso and legs in the last potato, becoming only the second person after Kanaya to do so.

i'm really liking the direction hussie is going with when it comes to the complete destruction of humanity. it's interesting enough to be its stand alone series, but since its a part of homestuck its like having your cake and eating it too.

I'd prefer Dutton over Cage for any shenanigan in this comic.

If you're trying to imply that there are any characters in Homestuck who should not be voiced by Nicolas Cage with the possible exception of Dante Basco, you'd be wrong.

These recent updates are funny, but they seem like they're a cheaper sort of humor than Hussie's usual stuff. His usual policy is to make fun of dumb culture while incorporating into the story in a way that elevates it. Here he's just doing the age-old trick of taking something everyone already hates and then making it cartoonishly evil.

For real though, there's also a difference between a real person and a character they made. Like if someone portrays John Egbert or whoever villainously, that's not the same as attacking Hussie. Not like he would care either way, but still.

Regardless, it's a moot point. Fiction gives all kinds of protections when it comes to fair use, and ICP and Guy Fieri are both public figures (meaning libel protections are drastically limited), plus a lot of libel/slander cases require a degree of believability, so I really don't think there's any kind of legal issue here. That's how shows like South Park and Family Guy can get away with such ridiculous portrayals of celebrities for the sake of comedy. Hussie is going to be just fine, for the same reasons that they are.

If it's just a matter of personal ire for people, well, Homestuck is and forever will be completely ridiculous. The Hilarocaust is no exception, so there's no need to take it so seriously. Where's the mirth, people?!
