You and the ARMSMAN settle into familiar old routine. You're not sure who's humoring whom with this distraction - aside from being REALLY FOGGED UP on PAINKILLERS for your legs, this game hasn't held any challenge for you since you were a kid.

You find yourself beginning to prattle about how board games are terrible for teaching real strategy. Two guys shoving brainless plastic pieces around a map according to a set of rules can never replicate the hundreds of little things that really shape the outcomes of wars. The ARMSMAN, not being the conversational type, just nods occasionally and utters monosyllabic noises of assent.



You also note with dry amusement that horse cavalry hasn't been practical since the days of your GRANDFATHER, GENERAL COUNT PIOTR VORKOSIGAN...
