Lost in the sky is the adventure of a lonely girl and her struggle in a hostile world. As a word of forewarning please take note of the following :
- the story features some sexual themes, but any NSFW content is duely labelled as so.
- readers can do some roleplaying, but this went to the point of annoying at several instance in the past, though this is probably not any more the case.
- I try to integrate commands as much as possible, but keep in mind the tone of the adventure won't allow for really random suggestions.
Participation :
You can give regular interactive adventure commands. Alyssa is the only really playable character, but if interesting enough more event based commands can be useful too.
Any reader can play the role of a spirit. In that case you may speak directly to Alyssa ( and sometimes other characters) and she can directly answer to you. Description, pictures or any lively interpretation is welcomed.
Avoid posting only "flavor" commands. practical advice or analysis of the situation are more useful for the story and some readers were annoyed by overfocus on the player characters.
If you want to give a more precise description of your character, it can be integrated in the spirit almanach
As with any interactive work, a bit of encouragment can only benefit the author when there is not much to suggest
Spirit powers and sigils : (spoilers)
Along the adventure are introduced different powers can make use of. Here are some reminders for future suggestions.
Spiritual powers :
Alyssa can in any case hear and talk to spirits. She can feel less verbalized sensations too. Some other characters are able to do so, with different kind of ability.
When dreaming, Alyssa's soul can wander in other realities, without much control of the destination. Any implication of what could happen to her in these realities are currently unknown.
Alyssa can summon spirits into her world for brief periods of time. The spirits can then use whatever abilities they have, to the discretion of the author. This process seems to hurt her, and can jeopardize her life if too many spirits are called at once.
Sigils :
Alyssa can use an old rune based magic called sigils :
Undoing sigils requires mostly attention. Writing sigils requires power crystal who are worn out in the process in a rate depending of the complexity of the task. It is understood that under duress some effect can be amplified.
A sigil is composed of at least one ELEMENT, one ESSENCE and one EDGE
Elements are either what the sigil will use or what it will affect. If using an element, it is far more effective to have it present beforehand than to generate it.
Known elements : Earth, Wood, Wind, Water, Fire, Mind

Essence are the actions that will be performed by the sigil using the element or altering it.
Seal : seal the support with the element, or seal the element.
Strengthen, Weaken : either reinforce or weakens the elements or the support
Blossom : random amplification of the element.
Spear : focused beam of the element.
Edges are the modificators to the actions or the way it's triggered.
Box : simple actions
Open Box : sigil will be triggered when destroyed or altered
Outer eye : sifil will be triggered when stared at for some time (a glance won't trigger it)
Bell : sigil is triggered when some specific word is said. (decided by writer)

Galloglasses : The ScottmanCountBlackulat : Tempette PicThe scotsman is largely mysterious since I pretty much invented the guy on the spot for this adventure. He is known as the Angry Giant because of his size and, well anger. Lore wise he is known to be kind to humans especially those sensitive to spirits as he once was. This is in spite of his great anger and he is known to lose his patience quite often even with those he likes, despite hints of former humanity he doesnt talk about what exactly happened to cause him to be where he is now or his transformation, and what little he does reveal is usually contradictory only that he swears to prevent the same from happening again to another sensitive human, he is suspicious and sometimes openly hostile to other spirits when at rest his mad head laughs constantly and whispers doom and innuendo to mortals in their dreams, causing, paranoia, distrust, hatred and misantrophy, the raven head tells lies deceits half truths deadly secrets and playful vagueries, (whimsicle deadlies) and terrible truths into the dreams and thoughts of mortals and sometimes often spirts, causing confusion, obsession, dementia and schizophrenia. Both these heads have largely remained quiet throughout the adventure as the scotsman has been wide awake, following the child's journey intently, but when he sleeps...

BigBurkhart : Pic Pic2This spirit is descended from dragons (or, perhaps, from the idea of dragons - the two are not always so very different), and thinks of herself as a dragon, but the relation is distant enough that she has more traits of snakes than of anything else. She has a distinct fondness for the concept of home.
Also noticeable is that some words - Alysssa, Gateway, and home, so far - have been spoken in a different way than the othersss. Symbolism of the representative color may or may not be relevant, but it is worth noting that "Gateway" was in precisely the color that denotes Alyssa's speech. Also, Alyssa's name was spoken with much less hissing than usual.
(I have not actually determined what the significance of these differences is, but I know it is significant, even if only to snakelady's personal character-arc.)
Although generally trustworthy, this spirit has no problem with lying about herself, or about things she deems unimportant (which may or may not have anything to do with any other entity's idea of unimportant, although she does seem to care about Alyssa's physical and emotional wellbeing).
Nighzmarquls : Light Drinker Pic"Greetings, Weaver of Tales. At this time, my name is not important, but know that I am but a weaver of shadows and darkness, and a servant to our dear silver-haired maiden. I shall do all I can to teach her the ways of the darkness, making herself known only if she chooses. I shall teach her of the shadow's loving embrace, and how it can be crafted into a protective cloak, and eventually, a weapon. However, these lessons are only as much help as she chooses them to be."

The Shadow Weaver reveals his preferred form from underneath his cloak! He prefers to take an air of nobility, and is genuinely loyal to Alyssa's well-being. However, he has self-serving motives for this as well, since he is searching for a way to permanently enter the physical world. His form is malleable, and he is strongest in the darkness. While he is not evil, the Shadow Weaver will take any steps to ensure the success of his goals. Fortunately, protecting Alyssa is currently his most important goal.
If Alyssa chooses to take his cloak, she will gain a large amount of protection and strength if she remains in the shadows.
Dreamscythes231 : Elric the Eel PicThe Light Drinker is sustained on the hues and warmth of radiance.
It happily feeds and swallows up light and can leave great chasms in sunbeams in its wake and a gray pallor on the land and inhabitants it has drained.
It however is honorable in its dealings, it will always act to the best of its ability as it has said it will, it shall honor any contract or agreement it takes part in and will protect any being under the wing of its friendship or protection.
If pressed on its origins it will simply say it may not speak of them for it has promised to leave no path of return or even whispered legend of their existence so as to honor the pacts it has made.
Of those places that were not eventually protected it cracks a prismatic grin and merely says "they are no longer, have never been and shall never become"
Professor Zobot : The Sleeping TravelerElric the Eel is a lesser tide spirit that wound up to this realm. His journey and how he got and chose this realm however, is unknown.
He is coy yet logical, aloof yet aggressive, and in a certain degree, ambitious. He however prioritizes the lives of the so-called living before any other side duty as he sees the actual influence of the ones in physical form as interesting.
Although he is a lesser tide spirit, don't dare mess with him if you don't want the tides turned on you.

Tales tell of a young man who was overcome with a great wanderlust and left hearth and home to travel the world and see it's great wonders. Stories say he saw many things and learned of many secrets. But during his travels, a great fatigue overtook him, and he lay down to rest.
And rest.
And rest.
He slumbered while the world around him changed. He slumbered while life grew and died around him. He slumbered while the beasts gnawed at his body and the soil draped over his form. He slumbered until his body was no more, and slumbered beyond that as well. Legend says that his slumber continued until he was nothing more than a spirit, his body and mind long rendered to dust.
And yet the stories say he will wake once more.
The Sleeping Traveler is a spirit who legends say was most definitely once a man, and is quite altruistic, as far as spirits go. He is inclined to offer his insight and suggestions to those who capture his fancy, and will rarely abandon a person who so captures it unless they meet a demise. He knows many things and can be quite helpful to people he develops a fondness for. Despite this, as spirits go he seems rather weak, lacking even a spiritual form with which to be associated with.

Sparrowsmith : Passeridae PicAn entity from beyond the limits of what we call time and space, the manifestations of its form that we can perceive are little more than shadows of its 'physical' body where it overlaps the 3 dimensions we exist in.
It has taken an interest in Allysa's situation, and has decided to drop in and observe.
Flack_W : The Hunter PicThe Passeridae claims to be part of the Old World, though the existence of such a world is unlikely. The Passeridae is a lethargic and apathetic 'spirit', though it prefers to think of itself as a higher being than a spirit, and prides itself on spouting 'wisdom'. It is a self-indulgent creature that considers itself similar to a god, and beyond mortal concerns. It has never done anything to warrant such a title, and is likely lying. Despite its bloated ego and malicious visage, it harbors no dark intents, and means no harm to the human the other spirits have taken interesting in following, though it does despise their coddling of the human. It is probably incapable of doing harm, especially to the more fearsome spirits, but is too passive to ever show whether or not it is capable of violence.
ChetBetera : The Bloodworm : PicAn enthusiastic warrior who hunted game for sport and men for pay in ages long ago, pushing himself to face the most dangerous odds he could pit himself against. Predictably, this thrill seeking eventually cost him his life - and his head - but his passion for combat sees is spirit driven to wherever the greatest battles may be taking place, be they in this world or the next.
To The Hunter, a fight should be just as much a spectacle as it is a struggle for survival. His love of showmanship is almost on par with even his love of fighting, and his desire to see the two combined as often as possible is probably why he's a spirit in the first place.
The Bloodworm is just that. A "worm" composed of Blood. Nothing less, maybe more.
It's motivations for being here are... contradictory at best, incoherent at worst. It talks of how it is here to destroy, yet all it does is stalk in the shadows. It says that it is but one of many, yet it's "muscles" terminate at the point where it enters this reality.
In short, Mr. Bloodworm is a trickster who lies and hides its motives just because it can. Take everything it says with a barrel of salt, but keep in mind that in the end it is what it is. And what it is is a worm made of blood.
As I wake up I am welcomed by a bleak light, almost hurting my eyes. How long has it been? I lost my sense of time.
I'm feeling dizzy, surrounded by a warm, gentle glow. My throat is burning, my breath short.
But the rock beneath me is hard and cold. And I can hear them.
The voices.
