Author's note : I'll try to update earlier this time. And sorry about the widly chaging style on the panels, again. I could try to draw alyssa more consistently, but I end up doing different things.
This comic's art is refreshing, and top notch. Don't worry too much about the changing of art styles. I think you should focus more on telling your story. Your art changes seem to work well within the story. Keep it up.

    Please rune your hat.
    Please rune your hat!
    If there's an attack,
    You might ruin your hat;
    So please rune your hat!

    Perhaps with air?
Lots of air moving around your head while your head moves.
Let's try strengthening air in a box on your hat.

Seconded. Your Runes are your most versatile talent right now. Any number of dangers could be looking out there.

Also get Rope. No trip down a mountain is complete without Rope.

Oh this is a strange idea~ I'm sorry, I guess you're a new one too. Actually this is so... tempting. I think sewing it would be the best course of action, and it will distract me a bit. In the meantime there will be enough light outside to leave safely.

Re: Lost in the Sky : outfit get!
So do you have any weapons to hand? Just in case?

    yes... eheheheheh...
    Go and find a wEapon...
and someThing to use it on dear Alyssa...
We'll find something to rip, something to teAr... Yes... eheheheheheh...
Ah... uhhh I guess? To be honest some of you are really frightening. But I really need something

I'll have to agree with the blue-texted one. Imbue your staff with the life of the earth, and let it be your defender.

~As I said before, I think the wisest course of action is arming yourself with a staff strengthened with renewed life.~

There are some staves availables. Some of the monks used them often. They aren't really weapons, but handy tools to walk on those uneven ways. I guess a more solid one could be useful indeed.
Wow. It's still amazing to witness!

Hehe, purty girl! You look really ready to march and conquer the world?

Okay, I got some rope, food, and all the things found in the scriptorium. The crystal has darkened a bit more. I think it's gona halfway now. I should be cautious with my next runes till I find a new stone.

This hat is very interesting, Alyssa. So much wind and blowing. Are you fine?
Well, I was quite afraid at first. But it whirls around without really touching my face so it's fine I guess.
But your voice is funny that way, kraaaa!

Ach nae, ye told the burd.
Well child, ye may as well head tot he valley for now.
The valley you say. I can't be thankful enough for what you did in the dream. Well I don't know if anything real happened at all, but for me it was more than enough.
Friends, what should I look for?

I could try to find my home if it does still exist. Or maybe look for the high temple... or I dunno, try to cross these mountains and find the lands from the other side? Unless you know of place I should for.

EDIT : I'm likely to follow the most convicing/notable arguments rather than raw numbers

Tick tick tick. Tick tick tick. Tick.

    That was a dreadful ordeal.
Come from a dream not your own.
    Though others acted rashly,
    My advice stands even now.

    Should you encounter any more
Such spirits, bind them to you.
    Take them into yourself, take
Their power for your own ends.

And don't let the others steal
    your prizes, my dearest friend.

Re: Lost in the Sky : runic crafting

~Do you recall where the monks harvested the rune crystals, is there a quarry nearby of them? If so I think the wisest course is too find it.~
~With the rock dimming, a place where you can go to find more would be useful. In my honest opinion anyway.~

~But if you must, home seems the next wisest course of action, but prepare for the...er...."VERMIN".~

Your name is Sparrowsmith. Of course, it's not really, but you like to pretend that when online due to an inside joke which only you get. It's kind of ironic. Your Avatar was made by аshdenej, it is an awesome sparrow. You just posted something lame, like you always do. You don't mind this, because it was intentional.

The hat looks silly but in a MAGICAL way so that's okay.

Try to find the high temple. You're on an adventure now. You can't go home.

I know you hope that I could discover things... discover the purpose of my survival, and your presence. Alas, I'm still hoping that I could find my old life, my old self, though. Let's leave those mysterious places lost in the sky, let the high ones and the vermin battle to their satisfaction. This is not a place to live in.

Yesss, home. How long hasss it been?

Find a place to call home, Alyssa.

Yes, this is where my heart belong to. I'm quite afraid, and the bird wasn't really happy about my decision. He knows about you but can't understand what ordeal is mine. Sure, once I'll be in the village I won't be able to look at the mountain with the same innocent gaze. Maybe I'll won't be able to stand living so close in the long run, and I'll discover other places. But this will be on my own free will, not because some said so.
I know I should have tried this hat, but well, sometimes hoping for the best is the best course of action... I still can barely imagine being able to wield such a power.

    Should you encounter any more
Such spirits, bind them to you.

Of course, I'll welcome any one of you! Your presence is sometimes a bit worrying, but loneliness would be a dreadfull poison, right now.
And there is him... The bird has just complied, though he seemed disappointed. I'm still unsure of what he's got in his back. I don't like being so trustless, but maybe you know more about him that I could, do you?
I should ask his name, and don't let him evade an answer. Do you happen to have some clue about it too?

Re: Lost in the Sky : a bird's name

Statement: That bird is of the trickster personality archetype.
    Statement: Tricksters love making deals.
Conclusion: Inquire what payment would need to be rendered, or what requirement fulfilled, in order to learn his name, in the hopes of generating a relatively reasonable offer.

See if he likes that. If not, maybe he'll just be annoyed enough to correct you.

As mysterious as your friend is, he has so far proven to be an ally. Perhaps in time he'll tell you more.
In the meanwhile, it couldn't hurt to ask a few questions.
