Whoooooooops
Hi guys
You probably noticed a severe lack of updates here recently. Ive been kinda going through a priority shuffle with my artistic endeavors. Spark has been receiving lots of updates while this one has been left out to dry. This is due to the idea in my head that I should work more on Spark because it is more popular, thus making more people happy.
The hitch is that it has left ME unhappy with my direction. Spark is fun, but it's basically literary junkfood, at least that's how I see it. It's quick and easy, but it leaves me feeling a bit lost, since I'm not really gaining much, artistically, when I work on it. And yet I focused on it.
Another reason for my hiatus on Tricorne is that I have felt that I have fallen into what would be called railroading. I made a critical error when I started the adventure, where I had a large amount of the plot decided beforehand. I now feel that I have sinned in that regard. A true forum adventure should be much more freeform than this. So, starting now, I'm going to be slowly editing Tricorne to fit a more traditional literary format. In other words, I will be making it into a "true" webcomic.
You can see a preview of these edits here, on Tricorne's very first post, which I was never really happy with from the beginning.
If any of this news disappoints you, I am deeply sorry. I'm actually not sure what to do with the thread here, in the long term. Closing it would feel like a finality, but this is really just a new beginning- The tale of the humans and cavelings will continue, rest assured. And, Spark will still be updated as well(since I feel it is still suited to the forum adventure genre), but perhaps more sporadically than we are used to seeing from the past month.
I just need to sort things out, in terms of hosting. Not really sure about that at all.
Thank you for your time.
Personnally, I prefer Tricorne, because I enjoyed The White Depths a lot and I like the familiar species.
I only read Tricorne.
Also, don't worry so much about thing being a "proper webcomic" or a "proper forum adventure". There is no such thing as either, there are just *stories* wich can vary fluently along many dimensions such as amount of reader input or hosting solution. Personally, I enjoy this kind of thing where the plot is mostly set but we still get to do some occasional critical multiple-choice vote or outfit design.
So- once you've done editing Tricorne to fit a better... frame (probably misuse of words, but I think you get what I'm saying), should we reread? I guess, should the changes be significant, or subtle, just to make it more freeflowing?
Edit: Also, you should know that you have the support of your fans!

Re-reading it once the changes are complete would be prudent.
Certain portions are getting a new take to make them more dramatically substantial, and at least one character is getting a complete overhaul.
Well, here it is. Got my own webspace like I'm a big boy.
Wow, there's not much here yet!!! I still need to play catchup with the progress we've made here on the forums, but that rate will accelerate as we approach the current plot advancement, since less stuff will need to be fixed to make it presentable.
Thanks for the patience, guys!
