Our story begins on the somewhat familiar planet of ALTERNIA. Here, countless trolls are hatched. Only a lucky few survive the trials of the brooding caverns, and are permitted to begin life on the planet's surface. An even smaller number survive on this brutal planet to the age of 10 sweeps, at which point they must leave the planet and join the rest of their race in interstellar conquest. A small number of trolls will move into the last category tonight, as their 10th wriggling day passes. If they are in good shape and have properly prepared, they may be able to survive the ordeals that will take place for them over the next few hours.

Let's meet the first of those we will follow as they prepare to deal with being PLANET PARTED.

We take a closer look at the hive with the green windows. The sun has set quite recently, so only a few trolls are awake at this hour. It seems that the resident of this hive is up and about, taking a look at the neighborhood from an extraterraneal landing slat, likely very aware of what is about to happen. If you want to be this troll, you'll have to zoom in quite a bit more so you can see them.

That's better. Where were we? Ah yes, her introduction...

A young greenblood stands outside her respiteblock. As implied earlier, today, the 19th bilunar perigee of the 5th dim season's equinox, is the day of this young troll's larval awakening, also known as her wriggling day. Though it was 10 sweeps ago she was given life and a name, only tonight will that name be entered into the fleet records.

What will that name be?

Your name has always been ANRENE DALVIS. All of that suggesting was quite silly.

Your name is ANRENE. As was previously mentioned it is your 10th WRIGGLING DAY. Your HOWLBEAST LUSUS is asleep on the floor, as she often is this time in the evening. You have a variety of INTERESTS. In more recent sweeps, you have taken to hunting alongside Wolfmom, with your trusty BOW. Sometimes you like to CARVE things, you got into this hobby back when you began making your own arrows. You aren't exactly good at it though. You enjoy strategy games from time to time. You even used to FLARP, but then a bunch of your teammates were killed in a particularly dangerous campaign and the rest of the group broke up after that. You still keep in touch with one of your ex-teammates though. You often practice a bit of CHEMISTRY too. Usually it's just for making practical stuff, like poisons and acids, but you do a little experimentation as well. Although you learned to play it safe after a mixture of yours exploded. Luckily, you weren't hurt because you had your back turned at the time, but we'll end that story saying that your hair used to be longer. You've been pretty cautious around fire ever since.

You reside in the "okay but not great" portion of the hemospectrum, with no psychic ability to speak of. You'll give a highblood their due respect unless they are are an insufferable prick. You are generally okay with making a friend of any blood color. Your ex-FLARP pal is a blueblood, after all. When interacting with other trolls, you try to come off as friendly, but you never take your mind off your own goals. You like having trolls on your side, even if in some cases it's technically you being on theirs. You think you might make a GOOD LEADER, but your blood won't exactly get you a very high ranking spot in the fleet.

That would be fun. Now that you think about it, you should have had one yesterday, but it's a bit late for loud music now. Drones are notoriously impatient. You want to be able to hear it coming so that you can be ready immediately when it's at your door.

That is something you can do. Although it looks like the highest-blooded troll that's online is a cerulean blood. Just as well though, as you've been meaning to troll her. She happens to be the only friend you know who has the same wriggling day as you, so she'll be the only troll you'll know once you leave the planet. You guess you're lucky you'll know anyone at all in your group tonight. She also happens to be the FLARP pal you mentioned earlier.

No. You just can't.
On any other night you'd be tempted, but you really don't want to be caught off-guard for a stupid reason. You like to think that, unlike HF, you have sufficient SELF-CONTROL to avoid doing stupid things. Besides, that game would take hours to complete anyway, and you aren't much of a gamer as it is. You'll save it for any downtime you get in the future, even though that likely won't be very much.

You'll have to wake her up first. It's your last night with her, and it's about to be a busy one at that, so it'd be best if you get her going. She sure has been a heavy sleeper lately. Maybe she's starting to get old. There's no way to tell how many greenbloods she's raised or to attempted to raise before you. With the high death rate on Alternia, there's a fair chance you'll still be the first she sees through completely to adulthood. You wonder if she has it in her to continue after your departure. Knowing her attitude when she's awake, she probably does. Just a bit more nudging, and you two can get to work. There's a drone to be met, and if he drank tea, he would have already finished it. He is definitely on his rounds, headed your way.

Just thought I'd get something out before I went to sleep. I made these 2 panels yesterday and planned for 2 more today, but I didn't get around to it. I don't want this thread to sit around without posts for too long. :/
