Seriously consider joining the Yellow team, but meet the others before we commit. And uhh, about our eye, we really need to learn a healing spell.

Katia> Enact "West Side Story" with the two teams being the two different gangs, and you as Maria in the lead role. Blow away the audience and achieve world fame.
Umm... was this the best time for me to lose my internet connection or what? Missed out on all this armor drawing and such... think I'm gonna cry.

Both
Katia, maybe you should talk it over with the teams, get their opinion on who to join.
PREQUEL SUBREDDIT!
I hate how people forget that they can delete double posts...
Check out my art, it's mostly pencil drawn fanart.
I vote for something between Pseudo's, Greed's and Juco's armors. Team doesn't matter. But that bandana eye patch is a must if the eye doesn't heal by the competition.
> Join the red team. Nobody would see it coming.
Geez... first I get ninja'd by Pseudo about making a simple and practical armor design, and now Juco mixes the best of all the previous entries when I was half way there.
Welp... back to the workdesk...
On a side note, I'd rather measure the options before picking a team. We could still make it gents-versus-lady or maybe even convince the orc guy to lend Katia any special Kvatch raiment he could possibly have to put all competitors against each other. Doesn't seem like he'd be willing to care, right?
Let's go Yellow. Your fur's already that color so why not?
My choice between the armors would be the ones that actually look like they have a decent armor rating. That would be Pseudonymous', Ranzick and Juco in third place with his tunic skirt armor. "ThisGuy"'s TES IV arena armor is also good.

Okay, I just finished my entry. I worked very hard on it for the past three nights and I'm happy with how it came out.
If it's not too late, I wish to enter this into the contest. Thank you Kazerad for this opportunity.
Also, I used Yellow Ochre Prismacolor Marker for Katia's fur, which didn't turn out so well, but the alternative was Canary Yellow with a hazel colored pencil, which, in a previous attempt, looked scratchy.

A lot of this stuff looks nice, but i think we're forgetting that the Arena armor is just some cheap, easy to make crap they give to idiots who are about to get themselves killed first-time for the amusement of bored cityfolk.
It's supposed to look pretty ragged and cheaply made because a) they're not willing to spend that much on free shit for nobodies who are about to get stabbed, and b) someone else was probably wearing that armor a short while ago before bleeding to death in it.
(WOWSY! The amount of really good fan art that has come in due to the armor thing is insaaaane. Really enjoying reading throw this topic right now....
Y'know I was working with my own armor but it didn't turn out as I wanted it to be after a few hours of work. Extramly sad I became and curse the whole world and everyone against me, especially myself, and swore never to draw ever again. Might try make a new attempt later though.)
Anyhow, Katia, You need to look for options that can give you gold TODAY. So pick blue, get your armor, and get moving, you can think about the dance thing later (Maybe.) when that time comes.
Thank you, AMKitsune. I really appreciate my first other-than-my-own vote! It really boosted my self-esteem.
I realize that it's a little too shiny for medieval iron armor and is supposed to be a hand me down, but I had too much fun with this project making an awesome outfit for Katia.
Again, thanks for the opportunity, Kazerad. This felt absolutely amazing to work on it and see it done. It reminds me of why I enjoy being an artist, something I forgot about for a long time until these past few days.
Man, it's been a while since I bothered posting here. It has also been way to long since I've had an excuse to draw scribbley fluff.
Big image under the spoiler.
Yeah, yellow and blue light armour, with and without super-sweet tabard pattern.
I vote for blue, but would be satisfied with any yellow that isn't greenish and is distinct from Katia's fur.
...
And I just realized that mirroring the yellow outfits was a bad idea considering that they're asymmetric. The shoulder guard is supposed to be on Katia's left shoulder, like it is on the blue outfits.
Kinda reminds me of some various armors from Radiata Stories. But then, I relate allot of stuff to that because I've played it half a dozen times.
I will say this. It looks the most like an easily re-purposed piece of fighting equipment I've seen so far. I could easily swing either way in terms of whether it looks like it's meant for dancing or fighting.
So, I saw this latest not-a-contest thing and I thought to myself, "light armor for a Dance Contest." And then I thought, "I suck at armor. Let's do something else!" And THEN I thought, "There is a serious lack of DANCE outfits in this thread." So I made her a dance outfit instead of armor. :3 (Though to be fair, if the FIGHTING arena was converted to a DANCING arena, wouldn't they have exchanged the ARMOR for COSTUMES anyway? They probably have some actual armor laying around as well though.)
It's not a "naughty" outfit, but it's not exactly armor, or even "clothes," either. Completely useless for Katia outside of very specific scenarios, really! But I don't really care if this concept gets used or not. I just wanted ta put Katia in silks 'cuz I thought she'd look cute. :3
Kinda proud of out it came out, but I'm sure someone could make it look even more awesome if they wanted to. X3
9:45 AM EDT EDIT: Updated picture! Better transparency, all-black lines, and added her current accessories to the right-hand image.

KATIA: The armour is cleaned, right? Check for, uh...odd things. Like blood stains or gaping holes that you'll want to find before you wear it and someone else finds it for you.
Oh come on, you shouldn't give up so easily! Remember that your design doesn't need to be perfect, it only needs to be yours. Just give it another try already!
As a side note, I've been feeling lately that while the template Kaz supplied us with is serviceable enough, it just lacks that something.
So, I edited it a little, and now I think that it's much more...realistic.
